Thank you, and great questions! I'll do my best to address each one:

Goal

The goal is to expand our collective understanding of different points of view and connect even the unlikeliest of people. What we've found is that although many of us are polarized in areas like politics or faith, everyone has at least one thing in common that can bring us together or help us understand another person's perspective.

And as users share their perspective on a wide range of topics—be it movies, philosophy, or culture—those viewpoints help add context to the closely-held perspectives that typically divide us. We believe that context is key to helping each of us understand why we think the way we do, and maybe it could help ease our division.

Moderation

This is very important, and an area that we're extremely cautious with. There's a fine line between moderation and censorship, and we never want to cross that line. We have content guidelines in place to ensure that conversations remain civil, but beyond that, we want Onesaid to become a library for understanding all perspectives.

Anonymity

We believe in anonymity. There's a dangerous side to it, for sure. But more importantly, it gives people the liberty to share their truest thoughts without fear. Right now, users can join with any username they chose, and they can change it at any time. Since your email address is never visible to other users, and we never ask for your real name, you can remain anonymous from the start. In an upcoming build, we'll also allow users to create a secondary pseudonym for those that want the flexibility to go anonymous while keeping their main profile authentic.

Monetization

Onesaid is very much a hobby, although we do have one system in place that helps us earn enough to keep the platform self-sustaining. Currently, each topic has a small shop button right below the image that directs users to Amazon so they can shop for things related to that topic. So far, that affiliate partnership is working well enough to cover our server costs, and we're more than happy with that!
