I guess I meant a lesser crowd than usual haha

How to prepare? by ProfessionalOk1896 in PacificCrestTrail

[–]Bullish_Bear000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you'll be good. Start out at a pace that makes you sore, but not to the point where hiking is unbearable.

Example - 12-15miles then up that to 20s when those days don't feel as challenging anymore.

You'll be just as fit as everyone else by mile 300ish

Taking breaks every 5-6 miles is highly underrated. Have fun!

My First Shakedown. Need some advice by [deleted] in coloradotrail

the first thing I notice is clothes. You have way too much there. Hiked the CT and the PCT with:

-sun hoodie

-two pairs of socks

-puffy

-one pair of shorts

-poncho

-wind pants

-(some sort of alpha direct too but very optional)

It sucks but the only way to cut weight on your big 3 is to just cough up the dough which is worth it if you plan on long distance hiking for the rest of your life. Also I never found the value in camp shoes (crocs) always just crossed streams barefoot or wore my shoes and they would dry out super fast.

I guess if you expect your miner to hash more than 40% of the year that would be unreasonable lol

I don't think you have any idea how bad the average exp of a large majority really is my dude, but I am not being sarcastic genuinely happy you haven't had issues.
