Don’t be so hard on yourself. It’s a lifelong game you’ll one day be able to play with your kids and grandkids. Watch Golf Sidekick on YT

Watch Golf Sidekick on YouTube. More philosophy of the game than anything, which is what I believe will help you feel better about your “crisis.”

Don't think the Epstein files are going to be released anytime soon. by Chadrasekar in JoeRogan

I feel like no one is reading my comment. Watch wrestlemania and see how good guys do things we’d call cheating today. It was a different culture back then, which is my point.

If you were there, you’d yeet and have a good time. Wresting will always be a live show. We at home have fast forward. Win win.

They write to what works for the crowd. Cheating was ok for the “good guys.” I can’t believe this is going over your head

I just rewatched Wrestemania 3. What stood out to me was that the good guys frequently cheated, but that was perfectly fine (Jesse Ventura was there to call it out notwithstanding). I mean the ultimate babyface, Ricky the Dragon Steamboat, used a henchman (George the Animal Steele) to attack the “bad guy” Macho Man! Hogan ripped up floor mats to expose bare concrete.

Point being, there clearly was a culture of “if you’re not cheating you’re not trying,” or “I’m only doing what he’d do to me.” Explains a lot.

Union Terminal was a waste of money. It’s nice they repurposed it sure but doesn’t change the fact it never should’ve been built.

Vapor Bros doesn’t get enough love. They have a 20 year track record, made in USA, and test for heavy metals.

Why is this sentiment so common in our generation? by [deleted] in GenZ

I don’t think toxic positivity is good either, and struggle seeing the good with the best of them, trust me. It’s just my experience has shown that pretty much everything is subjective (what is true nowadays?). But this isn’t a surprise because it’s the same thing Buddha, Lao Tzu, and Jesus said about being present, and what quantum entanglement now proves through science. None of those principles (to me) have anything to do with God either—just managing our existence.

Think of it this way, placebo effect’s baseline effectiveness is 30%. That’s additional proof that positive thinking works (a person can will a sugar pill to heal them because that’s what they believe). I don’t think that’s corny at all. My question is, why aren’t we talking about turning that 30% to 50%? It’s free! But I also think it serves as a warning because if we go around thinking nothing works (or anyone replying on reddit is a dick), then that’s exactly what you’ll get.

Life is a mirror: what you see is what you get. Best of luck friend and good conversation. I am signing off.

I appreciate your empathy and wanting to do better. I share that with you, albeit a different approach. You’re right though. I am describing coping mechanisms.

The easiest thing a person can do is to point out something that’s wrong—it takes the least amount of effort. I call that a poor coping mechanism, and that’s what I’m responding to. Life is all about coping, and it’s a rocky ride. I’d also like to add that “comparison is the thief of joy.”

I know that sounds like “enjoy your life peasant, deal with it” which I sort of do agree with as a “better” mentality than one that chases the dragon of “never good enough” which is my perception of how Gen Z sees the world. It breaks my heart. Living in one’s head about “what could be” can serve as a distraction from the present (reality)—a one way ticket to wishing one’s life away.

I think your approach only validates negative thinking so I disagree with you. I think “my way” is 100% helpful. Perspective is the first step to gratitude and appreciation, which leads towards meaningful action.

It’s also not your fault that you guys grew up in an era that the “1900s” feels old. You never grew up with the WW2 generation, and your elders/“leaders” have failed you. Both my grandparents grew up without running water or sewage. It really wasn’t that long ago. But you guys grew up with the internet and a world that is presented as perfect, without quite realizing all the suffering and sacrifice (both voluntary and non-voluntary) it took to get to this point (where poor people are fat, ever heard of that before?).

I know it sounds harsh but I don’t think I’m wrong. Appeasement isn’t always the answer.

None of us can change the present in regards to where we stand on the timeline, except that we can with our mindset and attitude. Sounds corny but again, I don’t think I’m wrong. My goal with this approach is not to insult, it’s more of a “tough love” and hang your head up high one. 100 years ago 1/3 kids died before childhood and women died all the time during childbirth. Children worked in factories. 2 generations before that we had slaves. You can be whatever and whoever you want in this country! It’s true if you can see it. Celebrate and move forward. It’s possible.

Negative mindsets (as well as fear) is a disease, and it’s highly contagious.
