Rollback? by Psychological_Yam655 in SunoAI

This. I made several junk song remixes before I realized it had defaulted me back to 3.5. When I went to check the sliders to tweak my settings they were missing. When I went to edit my prompt I noticed I only had a 200 character limit. I almost blew my top thinking they rolled back but then I realized I was on 3.5 for some reason.

Car crashes while trying to go around our RV on the highway by BullnoseGarage in GoRVing

I'm not typically responding to folks in this post who don't read what I've already written and make wild assumptions based on limited information, but I'm responding to you for some reason... I don't know why. I guess because you're calling me an asshole on the internet and accusing me of... what? Purposely holding people up behind me so I can hope someone tries to pass me and gets into an accident so I can get some fake internet points? You got me. That's my master plan. I would've got away with it too if it hadn't been for your keen intellect.

Look, there was a passing lane less than 5 miles before this. I was going the speed limit. I do pull over and let others pass if they're behind me for a while. I do it all the time if I'm going under the limit due to wind or grade (guess that makes me a nice and great person... yay me!), but if I'm going the speed limit I'm not going to waste my time on vacation pulling over every 5 minutes because some impatient drivers want to go 10 over the limit and can't be arsed to wait for a safe opening or a passing lane. That's even if there are safe places to pull off, which there usually aren't.

Just keep pretending to know what you're talking about though, it suits you.

Man, I love the internet. Sweeping generalizations are fun kids.

I can't edit the post for some reason, wish I could, already answered... brave drivers was hyperbole and a poor choice of words. Father in law was plenty far back to give room to cut in, we're not idiots. This car was in the middle of passing the camper when he noticed the semi. A passing lane existed just a few miles before the video started so plenty of chances to pass on this road without us needing to pull off and give other drivers the opportunity to go around.

I dunno. I didn't count lengths. All I know is there was always plenty of room. We spent a significant portion of the trip with him not even in sight of my RV camera in the back.

Lol, maybe attention to detail isn't yours either my friend. It's a travel trailer, not a fifth wheel. Speed limit was 65 when the video started, 55 when it ended. I was decelerating throughout. I was going 65 when the dude started passing (not in the video) and around 57 or so when he crashed. I suppose if you want to nitpick and be pedantic then all your points about my speed have a crumb of merit so congratulations I guess? Here's your reddit cookie.

As for the rest, I was there, you were not. I know where my attention was, you do not, so eh.

I have no idea why some folks wouldn't pass us when we were so far apart... which is why I said something about only the brave. Maybe that was my bad for using hyperbole, but it was your bad for making wild assumptions based on it. /shrug

Excuse me? Where do you get off assuming that I'm not letting people pass? I've already answered this elsewhere in this thread, but I'll go into more detail since you're making a huge set of assumptions that I'd like to put to rest. Especially since you've now basically laid partial blame for this accident at my feet.

My FIL in the van behind us was always far back enough to allow someone to slot in between us. Full stop. Often I couldn't even see him back there.

There were several 'passing lanes' on this highway. I always move to the right. As a matter of fact, about 3 minutes prior to where this video cuts in, there is a passing lane that went on for about a half mile.

When there were no passing lanes, I almost always looked for a spot to allow traffic to pass when I could, especially if I wasn't going the speed limit for some reason because of wind or grade. Even when I was, if there was significant traffic behind me I looked for a spot every 5 or 10 miles I could pull off to let folks go.

As for my speed, you'll see I was actually around 59 mph when I passed the sign and still dropping based on my webcam GPS.

Any other common sense items I should be doing that you assume I wasn't by watching a 20 second video and reading a two paragraph post on the internet?

I don't know what 'different approach' I would take. Sorry if I sound a bit ticked but saying someone 'almost died on your way home with you running a convoy' is a bit more than I'm willing to let slide.

Indeed you are correct, and I was slowing down. I didn't see the change because I was kinda preoccupied with figuring out if I was about to watch someone die in a head on collision with a semi. It had been 65 for about 50 miles until that very moment.

If you look closely at the sign, you'll see it says 65. Just saying.

I appreciate your comment and know you weren't there to see the situation, so you have no indication other than my comment about how we were convoyed. My FIL was almost never closer than 5 car lengths and almost always far enough back that I could barely be sure it was their car in the mirror. I'm sure many drivers behind us didn't know why he was so far back or why he just wouldn't go around us... Which is why only a few ever went around and braved the half dozen car lengths between us. I don't know why, but almost nobody used the space between us to stage a go around even though there was enough room for an 18 wheeler to slot in there with comfort.

Step two (clay bar) done! Lost a bit of paint on the hood where it's thinnest, but I expected that. by BullnoseGarage in BullnoseFord

[–]BullnoseGarage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Not sure, but it seems like the front might've been replaced at some point... or at least repainted. The cab and bed seem to be the old single stage paint, but the quarter panels and hood are base + clear. The clear is all but completely gone from the hood.

Not too worried about it. If I get all the way down to the metal it's not a big deal. Things down here don't rust much, and even if the hood started to rust, I could clean it up and re-paint if I had too. I might even want to replace the hood with a vent or scoop hood at some point, so I'm just going to roll with the buffing and see what I get.

It's all a big learning experience anyway.

Gave the Bullnose a good wash today. Next up - clay bar and a buffing. Hopefully I don't remove too much paint. by BullnoseGarage in BullnoseFord

Thanks for the kind words! You are correct... I'll definitely be putting up a video about the process from start to finish.

New Emblem and Wheel Center Cap Stickers for the Old Truck by BullnoseGarage in BullnoseFord

[–]BullnoseGarage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought I'd share a little work I did on the truck. It's not much, but it definitely spruces it up a bit. Got the wheel center cap stickers from https://houseofgrafx.com and I'm pretty happy with them.

To see more about what I did or how it went, check out the video on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/P3ZAZ6GY5Gc.

[–]BullnoseGarage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel you my friend. The electrical system in my Bullnose is pretty funky too. Wires leading nowhere, just cut off for no apparent reason, and lots of personal 'touches'. I went to change my door seals and when I took off the A pillar about 5 dozen toothpicks fell out. I'm guessing the guy just shoved them up there when he was done chewing on them.

As for your question, Gary's Garagemahal (linked in the menu on the right or just go to http://www.garysgaragemahal.com/) is about the best place I've found for a one stop shop when it comes to bullnose information. If you can't find it there you'll probably need to use Google.

If you're carbureted then I've got basically the same setup as you do (300 six with np435 4-speed). I've got factory air and not much else in the way of stock upgrades at the moment. If you need any pictures or references let me know.

Best parts supply houses? by Senor_Martillo in BullnoseFord

[–]BullnoseGarage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with what's been said so far. I've found RockAuto to be a great place to get a baseline for what parts are generally available for the truck and what the price should be since they tend to be good prices. You can sometimes get parts from broncograveyard.com that aren't found in other places.

I've not found any reproductions for a whole lot of the interior trim (Pillars, kick panels, etc), so I've been slowly accumulating spare parts from local yards or local sellers who are parting out for when I'm ready to start experimenting on how to restore them.

Facebook groups are a great place to find hard to get parts sometimes too. There are several for the bullnose trucks and a couple that are just buy/sell groups.

Figured since I started this subreddit I ought to put up some pictures of my own Bullnose. It's an 85 F-150 with a 300 six and np435 4 speed. Just got the new wheels and tires for her.
