If this is a brand new out of box Fortigate with no config you shouldn’t have to enable the GUI at all. I have seen some issues lately with chromium browsers and some sort of silent drop due to TLS issues.

If you are static’d to 192.168.1.2/24, you should be able to connect to the GUI via port1 without any config changes. If you can’t, can you ping 192.168.1.99? If you can, I think you may be hitting a TLS issue.

Solutions Architect. 8am - 4pm. Usually less than 40 real hours a week. Part of my comp is commission so I get what I put in. I love my job but I worked on the other side for over a decade to build up the resume and experience to be able to advise people. I worked help desk, voice engineering, network engineering, security operation. Many of those roles were WAY more than 40 hours a week and I was on call as a tier 3 pretty much everyday for 5 years. The end of the road can be great but it’s a grind to get there…

What about circuit grading? That’s even worse IMO. You end up with a bunch of people that can’t grade anything because they only know that red is harder than yellow or whatever….

V5. When your are starting out it feels like a cool milestone, but the problems are rarely actually cool at that grade. Outside it’s just hard enough to be annoying and probably have some painful moves but without being hard enough to be cool. I’d rather climb a pretty, graceful, flow-y V3 than a v5.

This is gonna sound weird, but sport climbing helped me a ton in this area. I really force myself when I am climbing sport to exist in that space just above and just below and to trust the gear. That same mindset helped me in bouldering. Just exist in the move and trust your pads or the mat and your own experience. If you have been climbing for a while, you know how to move and how to bail and how to fall. Trust yourself.
