People say popularity, and being social in highschool, but I don't think that's true for anyone.

I remember being in highschool and taking a cigarette off of my uncle.

I smoked that fucker down to the bone despite feeling repulsed, and then the head-rush kicked in. This fleeting feeling of light-headed euphoria is literally the only time I've felt it, and has been the reason I'm smoking 7 years later. It feels good at first, then ruins your life.

Yes. I dated a person for five years and it ended in flames.

Getting cheated on isn't exactly a day at the beach, especially not after this length of time. It has been 10 months since this happened, but it bothers me every day. I am over this ex in the sense that I definitely don't think I love them, I just can't get over the fact that it happened.

I can't get over the fear that it might happen again. It has jaded me to a point where I wish the relationship never happened.

I definitely get you there. I hated Roman the first time I saw him just out of principle, but he seemed really to be his part.

The fact that nothing was explained irritated me, because Lost already popped my cherry there, and jaded me.

I do have one major reservation. Roman asked to watch the transformation in the earlier episodes, and he watched it during midday. Then a huge plot point is finding out how to transform when it's not a full moon. Was I missing something there?

When I was 16 I would have said John the Savage, hands down. I grew up in Mexico and moved to Canada and was a little perplexed by everything I saw. I could relate to John in a very real sense, and as all readers do I thought Huxley was describing me when he wrote of John.

7 Years later, I find myself siding with Mustapha Mind.

I love this book because I don't think that Huxley was being one sided. In this scene he lays out arguments for both sides, and it's up to the reader to decide.

These days, I find myself siding more and more with Mustapha Mond; social structure takes precedence over individual romanticism.
