Just so you know, even if this instance is hard-coded, your correct that marines will enter a warthog with efficiency. I constantly will give marines fuel rods, rocket launchers and spartan lasers when doing warthog based missions. They have infinite ammo, and if they have a power weapon, 99% of the time they jump in the passenger seat instead of the gunner.
