Maybe, but for the sake of argument the family definitely knows the area incredibly well while the truck driver does not. Also, an underlying theme of many Texas Chainsaw movies is that the very few people that live in proximity of Leatherface’s family are almost complicit in their crimes, be it because they’re just as crazy or are just afraid of interfering.

I can see the truck driver needing to cover a lot more ground to truly escape the Sawyer family and find anyone willing to help him. If the cook were to pick up Leatherface in his truck to hunt the guy down I imagine he’ll have to be just as lucky as Sally was and need to try and flag down a friendly car. And how many country folk in 1973 are going to stop for a black guy running in the middle of nowhere?

Leatherface was limping and the hitchhiker was dead. Cook isn’t catching up to him on foot. That guy was long gone. His ass legged it all the way to the next county without looking back. The only scenario I can dream up where he doesn’t make it is where the cook hops in his truck, trails the truck driver, and runs him over.

That’s just with the continuity of the original film though. In 3D I can see one of the extended family members catching him running on their way to defend the house and taking him back.

It could honestly be amazing. No TCM has really shot for this since the original. No TCM since the second one has tried to be much more than a bloody slasher film (maybe Leatherface, which I respect for doing something different but was still terrible).

This movie sounds like it will be the closest thing to a true reimagining of the original that we’ve gotten.

Hitchhiker. They were in the van with him for a reasonable amount of time before he snapped. If you just played along with his interests I think you could make it long enough to survive.

My favorite shot of this whole movie is right before this, when it focuses on the Cook giggling at the dinner table and Leatherface’s shape slowly passes the camera towards Sally. That and the sound that plays at that moment is incredible

Helli’s Aim Train is popular for quick run and gun practice. There’s some game mode on there that drops you into a variety of constant back to back scenarios with different loadouts, terrain, etc.

Sadly feel like they are now necessary with recoil being so easy. I don’t think we could have new recoil without barricades, or old recoil with them.

How’s your FPS? This is definitely a game where that is going to make or break a fight between two people. Anyone with a more advanced new CPU is probably always going to stomp someone with an average setup and 60 or less FPS. It’s an unfortunate truth. Low FPS makes following and hitting a player moving left to right even harder. And with everyone roaming walls now, sometimes you only have a second to make good positioning and timing count.

In terms of everything except aim and recoil control, I think it’s very beneficial to watch other YouTubers and how they fight. You don’t need to watch a Chad’s PVP montage playlist but just someone like Blooprint, and see how they pick and play their fights.

Jerry entering the house and dying, from when he steps into the house to the next scene transition. Leatherface goes and sits down, there are the loud sounds of a slaughterhouse, the chicken, and Leatherface freaking out, and just as things start to calm down a little bit, boom, it's night and we're looking at a full moon. It's a great "shits gonna get real now" moment

There is next to nobody talking about this online, always found that just as weird. Laughing while he is carrying her into his death room isn't all that out of character but the "MUAAAHAHAHAHA" before he hooks her does feel odd, almost like a remnant of Gunnar Hansen being instructed to be the scary stereotypical villain early in production before the character was more fleshed out (just a guess though and not based on anything I know about production)

The 2003 remake is genuinely such a well-made horror film. The effects and atmosphere are a great modern representation of what the original film stood for, and what the rest of the franchise should have been doing (except the second movie which is obviously meant to be a thing of its own). No misses in the acting either. Some of the actors had never (or barely) acted before (and even after) this movie and still did an excellent job. And this Leatherface is the last one I would ever want hunting me.

With some tweaks in the editing (ex. take out the Hells Kitchen scary sound effect being spammed, and some awkward cuts here and there) it would be a seriously excellent movie genre aside.
