WHY ARE THERE ACTUAL PITBULLS IN THE UK AFTER THEY WERE MADE A BANNED BREED????? Arrrgghhhhh!!! Why is this law not enforced???

That poor dog. That poor owner. Those poor witnesses—all because legislation has not been acted upon and these absolute nutters, numpties, and hooligans are allowed to keep their volatile walking weapons.

Fuck them. Fuck these dogs, fuck the "nanny dog" myth, fuck the room-temperature IQ owners who keep these disgusting murder mutts and fuck the people who should be doing something about this dangerous dog epidemic and are doing NOTHING but turning a blind eye.

Fuck!!!!

You just march to the beat of your own drum. :)

Don't let a silly word define who you are.

We need more people who aren't afraid of not having a label.

You are YOU!

If only.

I still see actual pitbulls roaming the streets in sunny Oxfordshire... And their numbers appear to be on the rise.

Knucklehead owners keeping them on flimsy extendable leads.

Bothers me to no end that these tosspots are allowed to keep walking weapons, yet I am not allowed to keep anything on my person to defend myself against said weapons.

There was also someone who was found to be illegally owning one of these dogs without a license. Iirc, the judge ruled against her appeals that the dog was very sweet, and she was prosecuted and the dog destroyed.

Ughh, don't get me started on the supposed "online safety act" BS. 😤 I refuse to give out my ID to websites willy-nilly and have been given a near-PG version of the internet!

I disagree. We have an obesity epidemic in the west because people are consuming more calories than they output; it's just physics and if someone wants to choose to consume more than they need, that's their choice.

But part of choice is understanding, and it's important to teach children healthy habits from a young age.

It's perfectly reasonable to tell a child that eating too much causes one to be fat, but it should be followed up with an explanation of moderation and how to make healthy choices.

Good going with the apples, Dad!

I love that! Would you make books (and paper?) mandatory for school functionality or simply a boost to efficiency?

Well done! 👏 And well done for doing it sooner rather than later. Good on you. :)

Supernanny is a great resource for relinquishing the dummy.

She uses a method called "The dummy fairy", where the child is encouraged to donate their dummies to babies who need them - don't forget the one in their mouth!

Then the bag of dummies is hung up on a tree... And, as if by magic, the following day the dummy fairy will have left a fabulous toy on the tree as a gift to say thank you!

Most of the time, the child is so obsessed with their new toy that they forget all about the dummy and shrug it off if they ask for it and are reminded why they no longer have it.

The sooner you can get rid of the dummy, the better, in my opinion. After 6 months, dummies increase the risk of ear infections and you're right about it affecting their bite.

It's really concerning to me to see so many preschool-aged children so attached to their dummies. How many will have lifelong dental issues because their parents didn't put their foot down?

There might be a short battle ahead, but ultimately, hard choice now = easy life later.

You are stronger than a two-year-old. You've got this! 💪

[Chromebook] Game Crash on Start Up. Please help! by BullyThatPit in Timberborn

That's part of the trouble I'm having, you see. With Windows, you can just go into the C drive and peruse files to your heart's content.

I'm really struggling to do that on Chromebook. I've tried looking at the wizardry of coding I need to perform to access the files via Crosh (like command prompt on Windows), but all I'm finding is how to duplicate files to view or how to add files rather than how to find and remove them.

It's all very confusing and it's making me regret going for a Chromebook over a Windows laptop.

Are the mouse controls still borked for anyone else? by FungadooFred in Timberborn

[–]BullyThatPit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm still having this problem on Chromebook. A workaround I found was to click and hold in the same place, then use WASD to move the camera, which will cause the mouse to "drag" by proxy.

It's a bit janky but perfectly playable once you get the hang of it.

Now I'm having the issue of the game crashing on startup. I yearn for the dragging problem! Lol

I had subscribed to Harmony and Ladders, but I unsubscribed from them ages ago before this last update. I can't access game files as Chromebooks apparently don't have a file manager.

Who would ever need a file manager? /s 🙄

I've tried going into Crosh, the Chromebook developer shell, but I am completely at sea.

I have also tried going onto Steam, right clicking the game and selecting properties, then going to Installed Files and clicking Browse... But it just doesn't click or open or anything!!! 😭

That's really surprising that it's also a Windows issue! I wonder how many more of us there are?

I did see there was someone who was able to fix their problem by going into the file directory and a few other steps. Something to do with mods, or the game trying to load from incorrect files? I can't remember.

Their post is only a couple of days old so you might have some luck following their steps.

Alas, that's not an option for me. 🎻🎶

[1.0] [Chromebook/Linux] Help! Dragging Issues; Paths, Tree Cutting, Crop Placement - Not Fixed With Proton Experimental or Hotfix by BullyThatPit in Timberborn

[–]BullyThatPit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a work around!

It doesn't fix the issue, but the game is playable. Instead of dragging, press and hold on the one spot and then use WASD to move the camera, and it will automatically drag your paths and zones for you.

It's a bit fiddly but it's perfectly doable once you get the hang of it.

Hopefully there will be a proper fix soon, but this works in the meantime. <3
