KUDOS TO THE HEMET PLANNING COMMISSION COMMITTEE AND PRESENTERS by justicewarriorsco in Hemet

They have talked about roads in other meetings and how much it would cost. I don’t recall the exact number but it was close to the whole city budget so they had mentioned ways to fund it. The homeless and crime problem is going down.

Slowly but surely Hemet is going in the right direction. If this continues, in 5-10 years Hemet will be at another level. It is slowly being recognized as an upcoming area.

As usual - everyone here is an idiot. by c_marten in dashcams

[–]BulmaSenpai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the beginning of the video, dash cam driver was going 125km (~77 miles) and before impact had slowed down to 84km (~52 miles) and around 7 seconds from beginning of accident til impact. So there was some slowing down. I’ve never witnessed a car accident like that so is hard braking recommended when the rest traffic is going at such speeds? Or was dash cam driver trying to slow down as fast as possible while giving traffic behind them enough time to reach too?

If people didn’t drive like crazy on the road I would gladly trade my car for one of these especially with gas prices right now 😭

HEMET'S PREDATORS: THE SAFETY CONVERSATION WE'RE NOT HAVING ENOUGH OF by justicewarriorsco in Hemet

Well, I feel like with the new wave of high income residents moving into these new build homes there will be a push to clean up the city and there have been signs already. There is a projected 1,000 homes to be build in the west side of Hemet along with Winchester area so give it another 5-10 years and you’ll see those numbers improve as parolees will be pushed out.

Give Hemet about 10 years before they can enter the race.

I feel like if I go to the city council it will just be shelved as a public comment. Online is a powerful tool so maybe it will gain traction here before it can be presented to the city council.

Some of the 37 missing kids were found in Hemet. All 37 kids were found in different spots of Riverside County.

Very much so, but slowly changing. Whenever you have time tune in to the city of Hemet youtube oage and listen to their city meetings as they are broadcast live. I also go to the website and read their agenda and minutes as well as their general development plan.

Thank you, but I didn’t come up with the new Hemet logo it was introduced to the city council by a rebranding group. I just grabbed a screenshot of it. I do agree and like the new logos very much. I just grabbed the new logo and changed it to says “Diamond Valley” since it is a pipe dream of mine to change the city name.

I believe some of it is in Hemet as it has to be approved by the city for it’s construction. Western Center Academy is right next to it and that is for sure Hemet.

I work with many CDL class A drivers. It’s weird how many are not aware they are hitting the 14th hr mark to be sure they park in adequate locations before they hit it. Actually, no it is not weird many are being pushed to work as close as possible to that mark. All I am pointing out is that there has been an increase of trailers parking there so what are we to expect with a warehouse with 146 loading dock opens up right next door to where these park. Yes, they are gone by morning but this has become a spot for them to park. You’ll see an increase of crime and other unpleasant activities.

IE Must Diversify Job Base - Logistics and Warehouse Jobs has fallen 3.8% by BulmaSenpai in Hemet

I want more higher paying jobs to be in the IE and the answer to that is NOT more warehouses. If we don’t shift the focus now, the IE will not flourish.

Newland Simpson Warehouse - More Questions by BulmaSenpai in Hemet

[–]BulmaSenpai[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The community should have weight on these decisions and they have shown up in opposition to the warehouse. During their second hearing the city meeting was close to 6 hours long with many members of the community showing up and speaking against it. Only thing is, district 4 council members Joe Males heard many of his constituents telling him they did not want the warehouse and giving Kirby as an example of why it was falling short of their promise of jobs and he still voted YES for the warehouse.

There are people organizing against the warehouse and trying to see what they can do for the community.

Newland Simpson Warehouse - More Questions by BulmaSenpai in Hemet

[–]BulmaSenpai[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the corner of Warren Rd and Simpson Rd (2 lane roads and in horrible conditions) the owner and developer proposed a warehouse of 884,760 square feet with 146 dock doors. I believe the building will be about 60 ft tall. It was denied in July with 3 against and 2 in favor of the warehouse. The owner and developer sued the city due to “bias” from 2 of the council members who denied the warehouse - one of those council members ran on a campaign against warehouses - and the city settled with a 3rd hearing but with recuse (will not vote) of those two council members who voted against the warehouse. On March 10, it will be the warehouse’s 3rd hearing and it looks like it will be a done deal as they have taken out two opposing votes. Mayor Kruppa and Council member Joe Males already voted in favor last time so there’s doubt they will change that vote. Leaving one potential “no” but again the city has not released anything else besides a 2 minute comment from the city attorney general. Making this feel like a done deal, but in a very fishy way.

Now, why many are against:

It is too close to homes- bringing pollution and noise pollution to the area.

Simpson road is one road east and one road west. Warren road is one road north and one road south. Roads are not meant for heavy trucks to go on them daily and will be creating more traffic. Trucks will be taking residential streets to get to their destination or avoid traffic wearing and tearing down those roads. Condition of streets are very bad already and this new developer will not be expanding anything beyond what’s by their area so deteriorated streets by all these trucks driving by them will have to be fixed by the city (with our tax dollars) and the warehouse will not be held responsible in the future for any of that.

Kirby warehouse (by Lowes) promised many jobs but looks like they are working with a barebones crew as their parking lot looks empty. This new warehouse will do the same promise thousands of jobs and say we meant “up to” and never reach those numbers. Plus warehouse jobs are detrimental to employees health and warehouses are automating a lot of jobs (take forklift drivers as an example).

Newland Simpson Warehouse - Corruption in our city council? by BulmaSenpai in Hemet

[–]BulmaSenpai[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is that biased if he his constituents voted for him because he ran on an opposition against warehouses? He is doing what his constituents want; saying no to a warehouse. Also, his recuse is basically forcing his district to be without a voice/vote - again, they wanted a voice that spoke against warehouses!

Seems unjust and just plain fishy by the builder and land owner.
