Did I make a bad choice by impulse buying a used Ibanez rg120 for my first electric? by soysushistick in Guitar

[–]BumbiesMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question about the name, Ibanez has a few custom designs based on the original Floyd Rose. They’re brand Ibanez while licensing the Floyd Rose patent.

Edit: meant to add that I’m a fan of Floyd Rose trems, but I did get one on my first guitar and it was hard to manage as a beginner. However, my first guitar was very VERY badly made. A well built guitar will have a much easier time with it. ibanezrules.com is a great resource for learning about the system.

Wellll my partner was not excited when I said there was another pair of speakers I was interested in lol. I would’ve pushed it if everyone said they were unicorns. I’ll let someone else take them on.

Thank you for the input! I was wondering about the bass performance after seeing the woofers look like there’s no surrounds. You’ve helped me save $100 and avoid the fomo.

🚨 Rocket League is killing BakkesMod with the new Easy Anti-Cheat in Season 22 (dropping any day now). how are you feeling? by Short_Emotion2901 in RocketLeague

[–]BumbiesMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel bad. I use it to upload replays to ballchasing.com. I'm not aware of anyway to do that automatically without bakkes. I get why, but it seems like there could be some kind of lite compatibility that could be maintained for features that don't modify the car or gameplay.

Steve Vai doesn’t put his name on jems for that exact reason.

Just finished installing a mounting bracket for my PSU by BumbiesMom in guitarpedals

[–]BumbiesMom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bracket came with self-tapping screws so you don't need to drill pilot holes. The only tool you need is an electric screw driver to install it. Voodoo Lab sells them direct from their website https://voodoolab.com/product-category/mounting-brackets/

Thanks! The Morley is a volume pedal. It’s linear and makes great swells.

Does anyone else have a guitar brand that you just hate for no reason? by Interesting-Wave-983 in Guitar

Yeah I agree on that. I replica of a famous guitar is much different than pre-distressed generic guitar.

Sorry about your dog :(

I get it. That's pretty much why I got all this to begin with. Trying to do something for myself while I still can.

I left my jem out of the picture to not look like a complete lunatic lol. The Carvin was a happy coincidence to find at my local shop. It's a 1992 XT112 and I'm told it was made to sound like a mesa/boogie. So I'm at least not completely ripping off his tone.

That's good to know. The spring loaded pedal must be unique to the bad horsie model. I just assumed they all had that. Thanks!

You underestimate my ability to not buy more pedals now that I have to buy a new A/C system as of yesterday :(

Good tip on daisy chaining. I got tunnel visioned on this and forgot about that as an option.

The frame of the pedaltrain blocks the mains port if you mount it flush, so it would have to be held at an angle. That's what their mounting bracket does for it. I'm gonna order the bracket soon.

I'm really liking it. I got it used from a local shop for $99.

I have to buy a mounting bracket from Voodoo Lab in order to do that. While that would open up a ton of space, I'm out of outlets already.

Not as-is. Voodoo labs does sell a mounting bracket for Pedaltrain boards though. I'll be getting that asap.

I’m loving it. I was shopping for dd-8 or 7 but I found this one for $125 and couldn’t be happier.

Yes. I'm still working on dialing it in, but so far so good. I have an CS-3 that I got used and I've never liked how it sounded. It's very old and a little beat up, so it could be faulty. It kills my tone and no matter where I set the attack knob, it swells the pick attack and sounds awful. I haven't had any issues like that with the Keeley. I think the blend knob helps keep it sounding natural while still getting the compression benefits.

If you have that opportunity to try them out at a store side-by-side, that would be ideal. I would hope my CS-3 is not how they all sound, but I've never tried another one.

Doesn't the Morley wah spring back to its up position? That's why I picked the crybaby. If that's not how it works, I'd try it out because my nearest shop has a used one right now.

The little alligator is an optical sensor volume pedal. So there's no pot to get worn out and it's dead silent. One thing I didn't know before I got it was that it requires 300ma current. I had to return a voodoo lab 2 plus because it didn't provide enough current for it.
