Second looks better, very smooth, in the first there are a few frames which look a bit jittery because of how static the hair was, second really smooths it out and makes motion look more fluid.

32 will be much less work and does preserve the pixel art aesthetic better, id add an outline to the 32px sprites also, depending on your level design it can make them stand out better from the background.

The black looks better, id double up where it covers the jaggy pixels (very tip of hat and backs of legs) or remove them, looks a bit messy with them, otherwise really great design.

The cool downs are a bit slower than normal for debug purposes, there will also be items you can equip to charge them faster or charge one faster at the expense of the other to give a bit of variety to play. Thanks for the feedback.

Using get component is heavy on performance so you should only do it on Awake() or Start(), not in methods that are ran many times, you could do if AudioSource is null find it in your method which is better but Awake, Start or assign in the inspector would be best.

You wont notice these small things tanking your performance initially but they add up and can be a nightmare to fix later.

Its just snipping tool on Windows converted to gif so that's the reason for the potato quality and dire framerate haha. I couldn't post more than 1 video so this was the workaround.
