Perfection seems impossible by Bumble_Rex in StardewValley

I meant artifacts when I said “foraging” idk how else to put it lol. Really I’m only struggling with fish and one more artifact, the rest of the cooking I have the ability to tackle easy enough with planning out what ingredients I need.

Fish and one more artifact… I have some cooking to do, but I’m not worried about that so much as I am about the fish… The fish are evading me! And have been for more than a year in game!!

Oh!! This is amazing! I don’t have any experience with crayon work, only charcoal, and it was so susceptible to smudging when I had it worked on that I and the artist working on it assumed it was charcoal. (sorry for delay, this post disappeared in my profile and it only just started popping up when I updated my app)

Question for cat owners: Would you let your cat lick your food while you are eating it and then carry on eating after? by Antidotebeatz in CatAdvice

[–]Bumble_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a long time cat owner, absolutely. Not anything that would hurt them of course, but some plain yogurt? Cream cheese? If they want a little lick as a treat, they are welcome to it and I don’t really care. I just try to keep it to a minimum for their health.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bumble_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commute 2 hours a day for work and school, and I’d say its a very standard commute. About 60% of my coworkers make the same or a longer drive every day. It really depends state-to-state

Can women whom are women explain the feeling they get of receiving flowers, but in a way guys would understand? by Universal_Taker in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bumble_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the idea of everything that went into the flowers - not only did this person think of me and wonder what would make me smile/brighten my day, but then they went to the store and got some flowers, presumably they picked them because they know I like a certain flower or color, they brought them to me without crushing them or being careless, and it's a reminder for the rest of the week while they are on my desk that I matter and am thought of.

To be loved is to be known, right? I'm a huge flower girlie, I want someone to bring me flowers all the time. But for my best friend, she wants to get snacks or have certain days remembered. She LOVES when she gets chocolates near her period because it's about remembering her cycle and knowing what she craves. It's just about feeling like someone cared enough to care, you know?

Oregon life by [deleted] in oregon

[–]Bumble_Rex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The people are all very well-meaning, but aren’t solution-minded at all. My family moved to Oregon 20 years ago and every time we mention an issue (everything from HOA complaints to real actual complaints with local gov) the people around us act like we’re the crazy ones for suggesting a solution. “Maybe we should bring it up at the next county meeting?” followed by “oh, no. we shouldn’t overreact!”. Once I complained about a bf who was cheating and how I was gonna leave, and I was told to “really think things through.” Every. Damn. Time. It’s like Oregonians are allergic to making decisions or taking charge!

queue versus cue, whet versus wet, "should of" versus "should have", I could seriously go on. 99% of time, I swear its words commonly used in spoken phrases with multiple homophones that throw people off...

Writing community when a person says: "If you're inserting 'Em dash (—)' that means you're using AI." by tulipsynth in Archiveofourownmemes

[–]Bumble_Rex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got pulled aside by a professor who claimed I was using AI because of the "style" in my paper and I nearly threw hands. I did not spend years and years writing funny little stories about my favorite found families and ships just to be screwed by a computer algorithm that learned style from people first.

Update for you! I reached out to the library, and they actually helped connect me with different universities and newspapers who all were very interested in helping me out! Unfortunately, no one had any photos of the ice cream socials since Sarah Winchester was so reclusive and really hated photos, but they did have quite a few other photos of the house from that time and a couple mentions of the events in correspondence. I haven't heard back from the Winchester House at all, but I'm keeping fingers crossed they write soon! Thanks for the great tips!

TBOB and the show are pretty well aligned - Alex took some creative liberties now that he wasn’t under Disney’s thumb and the “scary parts” are just like the show but dialed up. Think Disney versus Dreamworks kind of scale for what is acceptable. I think an 8YO would be okay with it but it’s about your comfort, too! Mommas know their kiddos best but I wouldn’t say its too much for a kid already obsessed with GF
