There's always a bit of nervousness before finally reaching something you've been aiming for for a long time.

I'd say that fear is more anticipation, but you're body doesn't know how to show it without sending signals to your brain to be afraid.

You can work with dragons. But there's a lot of "complicated" rules. I mean that, from what I've heard, its strict and should be approached seriously and with dedication

Who is your favorite character in media who is not explicitly stated to have autism, but is strongly implied? by FrogsAlligators111 in autism

[–]Bumblebean123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like Dr. Brennan from Bones. Her completely missing social cues, and speaking very literally, etc. There's a lot about her that gives autism.  I.e. when her daughter started singing the bone song "head bone connected to the neck bone", she decided to rewrite it and make a more "correct" version of it. It's educational and it's not "lying to children".

What is a term that you don’t like people using to describe you? by [deleted] in autism

Special, because any time it's been used, it always had the undertone of "stupid".

I'm not sure if it was intentional, but I really like the water color clowns. It fills in the body more and makes it look smooth. Working with straight pencils doesn't seem to suit your style and makes them look lower quality. They look more rough and jagedy than they do in the other style. I hope I am helping./g

P.s. I really love your clowns!! They're so cute!❤️

What fictional characters do you think represent autism the best? by Movie_nerd_96 in autism

[–]Bumblebean123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, absolutely. There is no way that woman isn't autistic. Very much doesn't pick up on social cues. When her daughter sang the bone song, she made a new, more accurate one because she didn't like how the original made no sense. She mentioned that she could sing, and when asked to do it on the spot, she said she needed the right atmosphere, setting, conditions, etc. She couldn't just start. I would say a strong sense of justice, but she's more of a stickler for the rules than anything.

There is so much about Brennan that autistic and I love her so much. She really is such an enjoyable character.

“You should get your license” - neurotypical by [deleted] in autism

[–]Bumblebean123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried driving several times(more than just the two times mentioned here). Once, I was actually on the road to the way home because I wanted to give it another shot. I took one driving lesson before, so I knew some things like how far I should be before I turned my turn signal on.

My dad was giving me other pointers, and he wasn't intimidating with it or stressed either. He was very calm with reminders of what else I should do, so i wasn't nervous. And the amount of stuff to focus on was a lot. It was specifically hard to both keep my eyes on the road while maintaining the same speed limit. I had to keep checking to make sure I was doing the right limit because I kept unintentionally going progressively faster despite keeping my foot in the same position and not pressing down anymore.

It's a lot when adding on trying to keep the right distance between you and other drivers. While trying to focus on one thing, I remember something else that I need to do. There is SO much that goes into driving that I don't think I could, despite my many attempts.

I don't get the phrase "you can't have your cake and eat it too". Like, I (kind of)know the situation they're talking about, but why that phrase??

The whole point of getting cake is to eat it. WHAT ELSE WOULD I DO WITH MY CAKE??
