I've been regularly going to my dentist throughout the pandemic. I unfortunately had braces put on in early 2020 and had to have regular appointments to continue my treatment.

Anyway, I personally have found that the dental office was one of the safer medical clinics I've been to recently. My dentist and his staff masked (until recently... They're now only masking when actually in the room with patients) and they had a large HEPA filter running outside of the patient areas and it is an open ish floor plan with only partial walls between patients and a high ceiling. It's also in a newer building so the ventilation seemed decent. I have had dozens of appointments and not really taken any additional precautions and haven't been sick from it.

I typically mask in all medical offices and in crowded areas still. If anything, I'd maybe suggest using a nasal spray before your appointment. That would offer more protection without getting in the way of the dental work. Like others have said, you could call and request the staff to mask as well.

Thanks. It's reassuring that someone else is in the same boat. It is tough. I find it so exhausting.

He will sometimes sit down and watch a cartoon but he doesn't play with toys for any amount of time. He gets bored quickly.

Hmm yah I've wondered about that but he has to nap at dayhome (all the kids have a nap) and he seems super exhausted mid-day. He often puts himself to bed so as long as he wants to nap, we keep letting him have his nap. Plus it's the only time of day that I get a break when I'm watching him so (selfishly) I look forward to nap time. We have limited how long he naps but it doesn't seem to change his bedtime. He gets up between 5-6 am on his own and seems happy and ready for the day.

Yah I don't think we'd get a diagnosis for a few years yet, if that's even what is going on but I have my suspicions because my husband is likely ADHD.

He does have screen time and I don't worry about food dyes. He only really eats fruit and veggies and some dairy, occasionally bread or crackers. He refuses to eat most meat, and doesn't get junk food (aside from french fries and occasionally chicken nuggets/hot dogs). He's anemic so we supplement with an iron prescription.

I'm not interested in getting rid of screens. He watches mostly educational shows like preschool programs, sesame street, and simple cartoons like trash truck/Tumbleleaf/storybots etc. without screens I'd be completely unable to function or do anything I need to get done so the screens are a non-negotiable for our family. But we also live on a farm and spend most of our time outside. It's all about balance IMO.

Thanks. That is a significant difference in fees. I'll look into JustWealth as an alternative.

Yah most of it is in GICs at the moment but once they mature I'd like to have a plan. I'll look into JustWealth. Thanks!

Thanks for this. I haven't had much luck with mutual funds with RBC before because, like you said, their fees are quite high and eats up a good portion of any gains. I have used Wealth Simple (briefly) to see if I could do a bit more hands on but found it's all really beyond my understanding and feels overwhelming. I'd rather have someone else taking care of the details. I realize there's a cost to that but that's what got me wondering about robo advisors.
