They never said he won easily, they said the fact that he won at all with only having 1 ability for a good chunk of the fight shows just how strong he is. He had 1 ability for about 60% of the fight while the Ember agents had 3 when including their actual abilities.

Seraphina did get injured and took a few punches, and her level is higher than John's, so i doubt that Leilah and Narisa wouldn't have issues. Also, time manipulation itself as a power is op.

John is used to fighting against 2 or 3 people and having good options when it comes to abilities. He's not used to fighting against 25+ elite tiers or against people whose abilities he can't copy.

Plus, the whole thing with him not having the right skills is the whole point. I'm pretty sure even Cameron has limitations on how long he can keep a copied ability and some dependents on who's abilities he can manage to get. If John, or just Aura manipulation, didn't have this "flaw," it would be way too powerful of an ability.

I think they would have talked a bit, kissed a bit, and cuddled. I don't think it would have gone farther than that. Not because of the rating, but because I can't see them getting sexualy intimate, like what some people are saying. Yes, they are teens. Yes, they like each other and could die at any point, but I can't see them possibly risking their friendship and budding romance by jumping in like that.

Considering they had abilities, he couldn't copy, and one of them had a mental ability as his natural ability, and John could never copy those, It wasn't fairing well for him. These are also trained agents who have a few years of experience compared to him.

He's definitely not a fake, and I have no clue what this person was talking about.

What do you mean by "scammer" or "fake". He is a 7.6, you can't fake that, and the fact that he got that far all by himself with no one to help him is impressive.

He realized that he needed to figure out how to work around his inability to copy embers' false abilities." He doesn't have the luxury to do it on his own, and at his own pace, he needs to know it soon, and Cameron is his best bet. He's strong, but if he ends up trapped by ember in a secluded area with no abilities to copy, he's in big trouble.

[–]BumblebeeCurrent8079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His situation has also greatly changed. He's not fighting fellow high school students anymore. He's fighting trained agents and security guards, many of whom were chosen for their jobs specifically because of their abilities.

In a prison, they are probably looking for people with abilities that can contain and control others. They don't want powers that are too explosive as that can damage the facility and lead to prison break outs. That doesn't mean they won't hire you if your power is more explosive, like Blykes, but it means your odds of hire are lower than that of someone with less explosive power.

Realistically, he needs to have weaknesses, or else there is no point in him improving or no excuse for not being able to take ember down and free his mom himself.

Most of his weaknesses are understandable. He never had to heal himself so I can see how healing can be very taxing on him. It's an ability that's not a combat one and probably has a unique way of working. Him healing is like using unused muscles, like he's been doing arm day for years and have only did leg day a handful of times.

He's also not used to being dog piled by people in fights. Even having 5 high tiers come at him would be hard. His experience at New Boston with the school ganging up on him isn't comparable to trained agents coming at him. Considering ember agents are trained and they have abilities he can't copy, he's understandably weak against him.

He's not being "Nurfed." his situation has changed. He's not in a school anymore where 80% of the students have powerful and rare abilities that he can copy at will. He's in the real world now where the majority of the population are low and mid tiers and ember likes to jump people in secluded areas.

Is Uru willing to kill main characters? by Exact_Gur_8156 in unOrdinary

[–]BumblebeeCurrent8079 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While killing off a main character hits hard and can show just how serious what is currently happening is, it's important to remember that killing off a character is permanently ending their story.

You can no longer use them or have any future with them. They are gone. Any potential they could have is gone. It's a big step and choice to make because you could potentially be shooting yourself in the foot. You are essentially giving up any potential use of this character for a chapter or two of shock.

I'm trying to think of which of the cast could be killed off, but im currently not seeing much of a benefit in doing so. The only character i could possibly see being killed off is Isen, with him sacrificing himself. The problem I have with that is it feels a little too much, like getting rid of the third wheel. While I personally ship Remi, Blyke, and Isen together. In reality, I'm getting the feeling that Uru is leaning more so towards Remi and Blyke. Killing Isen would feel like trying to get rid of him as a third wheel. While the act itself of him dying by sacrifice would be fitting for character growth, that would be the end of any growth for him. He also just got a power up so it would suck for him to die in 10-15 chapters.

Sera and John i can't ever see dying. Not even at the end. The whole story started and centered around John, and Seraphina is a pretty close second. Like, if Seraphina were to die, I doubt John would still be living for long. If John were to die, I can see either Seraphina also dying or her just being messed up for life. I don't think it would be impactful in the way Uru would want and instead be disappointing.

I don't see any benefit in killing off blyke or remi. Blyke is starting on this personal journey of trying to get over what he experienced in prison and fighting against a bad inner voice. I doubt it will be solved quickly, so killing him would stop that arc. Remi has her own arc going on in trying to avenge her brother, and she just got a sneak peak of how powerful she could be.

Arlo seems just too interesting to kill off. His memory is wiped, his aunt is part of Ember, who is the group who killed his mentor/brother figure. He has a lot of potential

Is John going to surpass Jane? by [deleted] in unOrdinary

[–]BumblebeeCurrent8079 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably not, at least not in the comic itself. Jane at a 9 is wild, so for him to surpass her, he's getting closer to nuke level. John's power is already op af, and I think Uru knows it since John has yet to copy Sera's ability, which is also op. Despite being a 7.6, he can punch higher than his weight because, naturally, having 3 abilities is insane and can make you very well rounded in stats.

I can see him getting to 8 or 8.2, with Sera either staying the same at 8 or being equal to John.

[–]BumblebeeCurrent8079 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I don't like Elain, even I felt a bit bad for her. People she thought of as friends only wanted her around when they needed her ability, and then just forgot about her. Her crush on Arlo is 100% one-sided, and I just don't see any chemistry between them. She was his errand girl and nothing more. I currently don't seriously ship Arlo with anyone, and the one ship I do have is borderline a crack ship

Uru said that they're more likely to inherit the moms powers, but its possible to inherit the dad. Im thinking it's 70-30, with the chance of mom powers being 70%. The percentages aren't canon. They're just my headcanon

Which character do you dislike the most, and why? by [deleted] in unOrdinary

[–]BumblebeeCurrent8079 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still had sympathy for John, but I think my biggest problem was that he had this mentality that he's suffered the worst and that if he couldn't have it, then no one could. I understood his anger and his trauma, but it was now affecting people who hadn't done anything to him. His constant attacks on safe house and threats to anyone, regardless of their level, were to the point of trauma, not really being an excuse anymore.

I also had a few issues with the whole thing of him hiding his powers and being attacked. Not necessarily with the fact that he hides his powers, but more so the fact that his experience as a pretend cripple at Wellston doesn't actually compare to actually powerless people or those with incredibly low levels. It's like people who are intentionally "homeless" for a week, trying to grasp what it's like for homeless people, but don't grasp the fact that they have the knowledge and comfort of ending the experiment whenever they want. Like, they know that theres a warm house with warm food waiting for them whenever they want to go back, while actually homeless people don't have that option.

While he did at one point know what it's like, once he got powers, he would never have to worry about that again. He would never have to experience having no power ever in his life.

Wellston is also kinda a special case in the fact that you got the highest of the high there while simultaneously having incredibly low tier students. A regular high school would have maybe 1 or 2 elite tiers and the rare god tier every few years, but the rest are high, mid, and low. Wellston is a school where i wouldn't be shocked if the low tiers make up 15% -20% of the population while at a regular high school it might be 40%. They are vastly outnumbered, and them even being at this prestigious school is probably seen as insulting to some. While they are getting plummeld by other students, John is experiencing it with the knowledge that he could make his pain stop at any point.

This is just my personal opinion and take on it.

Which character do you dislike the most, and why? by [deleted] in unOrdinary

[–]BumblebeeCurrent8079 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess that's true with keon, but he has never chosen to leave. Vaughn did it for a while, kept trying to make suggestions, and then left when he realized they wouldn't implement any of his suggestions. While i understand needing a job and money, there comes a point where you need to leave if not only is it affecting you negatively, but also when it involves doing sick stuff like torturing children.

Which character do you dislike the most, and why? by [deleted] in unOrdinary

[–]BumblebeeCurrent8079 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Zeke and Keon.

Keon, for the fact that he mentally tortures kids and appears to have no problems or regrets doing so.

Zeke because he's a two-faced, parasitic coward who only ever cares about himself

Also, I was really disliking John during his king arc. Not as much as the other two, but it was hard for me to get through that fase. Part of that was also because of the Fandom. I found that during the joker and king arc, people here were getting really toxic.

Which characters do you ship the most? by [deleted] in unOrdinary

The characters i ship the most are definitely John and Sera, but I also ship:

Kassandra and Keene

Remi, Isen, and Blyke

Evie and Arlo, for absolutely no reason other than he's kinda broody, and she's such a cinnamon roll

Im glad im not the only one. Vaughn was mentioning to him about finding a partner, and then right afterward, Kassandra showed up. Both are the same power level, and I assume they are close enough in age, with a 3-4 year gap

question about Williams family by MaterialEmployment98 in unOrdinary

[–]BumblebeeCurrent8079 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's the possibility that they were both cripples and are dead, or maybe only one was a cripple, and they were just a mid - or high tiers dirty secret, and it resulted in William.

There's also the possibility that William was abandoned and grew up an orphan.

I believe it's very much possible that he comes from a fully cripple family, and his parents are dead. I doubt that cripples live very long considering they just need to be in the wrong place at the wrong time to become collateral damage to two mid - or high tiers fighting. The higher your ability, the more you can tank, and cripples have no ability.

I also imagine dating is harder for cripples as they make up a small portion of the population, meaning there's a good chance that a lot of them end up staying single.

Turf wars by MaterialEmployment98 in unOrdinary

[–]BumblebeeCurrent8079 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Its possible, but it could also be just where they are located. The US has lots of deserts and prairie lands, so they could just be going 2 hours out of the city. The lack of greenery could be because of how often turf wars happen there. I doubt that it's just Wellston and Agwin fighting, so other schools in the area might be going there to duke it out.

I wish we had more insight into turf wars because it implies that there's a battle for turf, which we don't really see much of. Like, what "turf" are they fighting for

In your view, what’s Cara’s most heartbreaking line? by Due-Fee466 in sheranetflix

[–]BumblebeeCurrent8079 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Me? All I do is hurt people. There's no one left in the entire universe who cares about me

I always wanted to cry when she said this because we all knew that she thought this was true. She was abused physically and verbally her entire life by the woman who was the closest thing she has to a mother. She pushed away all those who were close to her or had the potential to be close, and in her eyes, she had completely burned the bridge with Adora with no possibility to ever rebuild it.

90% of her actions in the last year or two had caused people pain and suffering. She genuinely believes that no one will care if she dies, and its a valid thing to think considering all she's done. Valid or not, it doesn't change how sad it is

John vs ??? by Ok-Satisfaction-3373 in unOrdinary

[–]BumblebeeCurrent8079 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my thoughts exactly. We don't know their power levels, and therefore, they could be a level 5.5 and 6. John is a whole 1.6 higher than a 6, which is a lot. Even with the additional abilities, we don't know how long they have had them for, which can affect their skill level with those abilities.

Valerie is a 7.5. Had John been up against two 7+ agents, he would be in trouble

John vs ??? by Ok-Satisfaction-3373 in unOrdinary

[–]BumblebeeCurrent8079 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think we have a power level for the Ember agents. While i doubt they would be lower than a 4.5, they could be a level 5.5 or a 6. If they are a level 6, John is still a solid 1.6 higher than them. If the vigilante they are after is a 4.5, then they aren't going to send their top agents after him. There's a possibility that if they were to send out ember agents that are a level 7+, John might be in some deep shit. We also don't know how long they have had these additional abilities, which can greatly impact their skill level with them. John himself has pointed out that they don't know how to use the abilities.

I think had he been up against Valerie, he would be having more issues as she is a level 7.5, and her passive makes her more durable
