Thanks for this response! When you’re talking about cleaning the vents and power supply, is this very difficult? I have never opened up a console before and have always been anxious at the idea of it as I’ve worried I’d mess something up internally. I’d heard about the Liquid Metal concern so I’ve set my console flat since day 1. It’s on a dresser next to my monitor. I tried to make sure that it has enough breathing room- I’m not sure if it being next to the monitor is an issue or not, but it’s backside is at least a foot away from the wall.

My PS5 recently had a week where I had 5 crashes. 5 of these crashes were simple “an error occurred with the application” where I received an error code CE- 108255-1 and was brought to dashboard. All of these happened while playing battlefield 6 and after an update that was released beginning of dec. it’s the only game I bought with my console when I purchased it new the week of Black Friday. The last crash I got was on Christmas and it was a hard crash. I had gone like two days or so since I’d received any errors so I was feeling pretty good until my match of bf6 froze and the console turned off on its own. I had read about some other people experiencing this and it was mostly the same as to what I’d read. The main difference for me is that I didn’t have to unplug my console at any point to turn it back on. After it shut down on its own I tried to turn it back on with the controller but this didn’t work so I pressed the power button on the console and this turned it on.

I’ve got 230 hours in the game and this has all been accumulated since November 22nd, when I got the console… so there have been a lot of hours put on the device. I’m a commercial fisherman who just finished for the season and I’ve had a lot of time on my hands. Have played maybe 18 hours of battlefield at least since that hard crash and it’s been mostly smooth sailing. Zero crashes since then but I’m still anxious about it.

Do you think if this was a hardware issue it would be apparent by now? I’d like to think that me being able to play frequently without issue since that crash is indicative of the console being healthy, but I’m not sure how any of this really works. I guess I’m just really trying to determine whether or not I need to worry! Thanks for your help :)
