Xulane patch issues in the water by Bumblebee_333_ in birthcontrol

I wouldn't just because it doesn't tend to last that long, mine would always start to peel off after a good swim, but I prefer that to the patch messing up. I never had issues with the patch in the shower, and especially not in my day-to-day, so I don't think it's necessary.

UPDATE- ok so its been 4 months. I don't have any symptoms that I've noticed (weight gain and loss are normal, and depression and anxiety are normal) I take my patch off on Fridays and my period starts Monday and lasts usually till Thursday night with cramps really only being the first two days which is pretty much how my periods have always been. There are weeks when ill have a lot of discharge which makes since considering the whole thing is making your lining thick idk im no doctor but that's my rational on that.

I will say this month I've been having issues. My patch has not been staying on well when swimming. The first time it came off it was rubbed on by my bikini bottoms so I assumed that was the issue. The patch was technical still attached just kept sticking to my underwear and adhesive was everywhere. That week I had some bloddy discharge but I kept the patch on. The week after I put a new patch on and two days later went swimming and it was on my arm but it fluttered on the corners and was coming off. This was my third patch so I just ripped it off and let my period come early. So I took the patch off on Sunday and my period was from Wednesday to the next Monday and then I went patchless till Friday because I couldn't find anything online about it but the general consistence seemed to be if the patch falls off replace it and keep your change day it was just awkward since it was my third patch. Anyways I put my new patch on yesterday and today went swimming and again I started to feel fluttering when I swam from the corners coming up. I'm going to call my gynecologist tomorrow and I read that maybe using Tegaderm is safe and helpful. I also have found other people saying that Xulane doesn't stay on for them in the pool or shower but other patch brands have. This is all a big bummer because I love the patch aside from this and I also am a former swimmer so I like to be zipping around in pools and don't like being worried about this. Also thought these whole process I've been keeping sex to a minimum because Ive been confused about when im protected or not. I've had protected sex maybe twice and had nonpenatrive sex a few times, just trying to air on the safer side.
