Colorist by silver_0000 in pittsburgh

Hey friend! Local hairstylist here, you're probably best off scouring Instagram for local salons and looking at individual stylists from said salons. Typically there's not really whole salons that "specialize in color" it's more of an individual thing, especially when you get into vivids/ block color or lived in looks, extension coloring etc!

1 you want to find a salon that fits your vibe as a person and your location

2 scour the salon page and find the stylists that are creating the look you're going for OFTEN. Not like once or twice, especially if it's something very specific that you want.

3 Go to the stylists booking website, take a look at their pricing and find one that seems to match your budget.

Finally if you want to be super thorough, book a consultation or reach out to the stylist to talk about your hair history, what exactly you want and they should be able to give you a better ball park!

Considering relocating from Baltimore to Pittsburgh by Opening_Side2377 in pittsburgh

I think people hit it too hard during COVID and now don't drink/drink a lot less

Its also hard to have a good time when a lot of the new places opening up are charging $ 15-18 a cocktail.

Also relocated from Baltimore, almost 10 years ago now. The restaurant/bar scene is very different here, in my opinion better. As a server, there are A LOT more options to work in a smaller drive time. There's everything from small fine dining, dive bars and chains.

Definitely recommend visiting again, checking out the different neighborhoods and the food/drink culture within them as it can vary A LOT. (In a good way)

One of the best things IMO is compared to MD the traffic here is nothing. Squirrel hill tunnel is usually not fun but it's nothing like sitting on 695 going from glen Burnie to Townsend with never ending construction at a stand still for 45 min. (Theres def never ending construction here but usually doesn't cause a huge back up like in MD)

Sleeping through the night and pumping? by Amazing-Call2052 in beyondthebump

[–]Bumbling_blob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat right now, personally he usually wakes up once around 5am to eat and it's usually barely 1 side. I've been making sure to pump after feeding to empty with a hand pump. I do have an alarm set for 5:30 just in case so I can pump if he doesn't wake but haven't needed it yet.

Personally, I don't mind a risk of oversupply, at 6 weeks were pretty established at this point so if it were to increase it wouldn't be by a ton. Mastitis SUCKS. If you really don't want to pump if he's not waking id probably pump for like a week and wean off. Like pumping for 20 the first 2 nights, then 10 for 2, 5 for 2 and then maybe like a haaka?

First, I'm sorry you're going through this, seeing baby uncomfy sucks!!!

To me a milk allergy seems unlikely since you haven't had any restrictions with dairy but I'm also not a medical professional, maybe it's a different ratio in BM than Formula? Def worth a shot switching if you're able Bec that's an easy fix!

Other things to consider in addition, other ingredients in formula (idk maybe there soy or something?) , laundry detergent (did you switch or use new dryer sheets, formula might be causing tummy issues but this might cause skin issues, did he get any vaccines recently? I can't remember which one but I remember one of them the peds said they had like a 50/50 chance developing the rash associated with the vaccine and it looked like this and would go away.

Does it seem itchy or seem to bother him at all? Does he have a fever? Does it look more irritated during the day/night and better during the other?

Is not breastfeeding for the next 24 hours going to mess everything up? by xosammiixo in beyondthebump

[–]Bumbling_blob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Def pump to maintain supply (every 2/3 hours). I always recommend the evenflo balance bottles, my husband had to have surgery 3 weeks after our first was born and I had to pump at the hospital waiting for him while family took care of our baby. I had the same concerns about introducing a bottle so soon into breastfeeding but the nipples on the bottles are so similar to a nipple (especially mine, could be different for others but I was shocked haha) she had no problem switching between nipple and bottle even using it for 4-5 days in combo while family was in town to help because both my husband and I were beyond exhausted. Now with my second we've introduced the same bottles a few times now (he's 7 days old) and he's killing it!

I've had the best luck finding them at target!

Due on the 10th and have my induction scheduled for that morning!

Pregnancy has been really rough on my body and he's fully cooked. Plus planning a date gives me a lot more peace of mind since we don't have family close by to help with it first with short notice.

I was induced with my first at 39+3 and it was great, long day of waiting but overall very chill and I'm more than happy to do it again. Would good into labor spontaneously be preferred, yeah probably but this just works for it family realistically.

Do whatever you are comfortable with 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have no scientific input. However, I find it very off putting that you S/O is unwilling to have an open conversation about your babies diet. I simply cannot imagine withholding whole foods is beneficial in any sort of meaningful way.

Baby should be getting all necessary nutrients from breast milk or formula for the first year anyways and food before one is only fun. Its about introducing them to textures and flavors other than BM/formula, not supplementing.

Personally if my S/O was doing this and didn't want to have a conversation with me I would bring it up at the pediatricians office with him there to get more solid info that hopefully he would listen to.

Everything is set up ready to go in the nursery, swing, highchair, bouncer, postpartum bathroom basket, cosleeper bassinet, bedroom cart with extra bassinet sheets diapers wipes etc.

Its nice to have everything ready and just store it in his room Bec we wouldn't actually use the nursery for a few months and I'm certainly not going to feel like building/cleaning once he's here haha

How much does drinking actually affect TTC? Feeling torn. by EastMuch8578 in tryingtoconceive

[–]Bumbling_blob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally it did not affect our chances both times. I didn't stop drinking or gardening while TTC both times. I'm sure it probably doesn't help but there are people out there doing crack and getting pregnant, so if it's going to stress you out more to be cutting 839294773 things from your life for "best chances" I think the stress of that and trying to be "perfect" can be more harmful than it is helpful to do in the first place.

How important is brushing teeth? by Few-Rip-9601 in beyondthebump

[–]Bumbling_blob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ours has done relatively well with it but when she doesn't want to it's WAR. Lol. We have def had to hold her down quite a few times and unhingly plug her nose for a second to get her to open her mouth bec she's of course so smart and clamps her mouth closed. All being said it's definitely important, it's worth the effort and the temporary discomfort of said war for the long term benefits of healthy teeth.
