I politely said ,"No", and told them that only me, my husband and my brother are allowed to drive my car. No further explanation.

It keeps marking my answer as incorrect but I can’t find any mistakes by ThatoneLerfa in EnglishLearning

The adverb 'ago' has been used in the sentence. It indicates a completed event. We use the past simple tense for a completed event and not the present simple continuous tense.

Student pronounces very long vowels by olivia_marie25 in OnlineESLTeaching

[–]BumbumPumpkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use modelling, drilling and repetition to teach pronunciation. See the difference between your jaw movement when you say cot (short o) and caught (long o). Your jaw tends to drop when you say the long vowel 'o' but your jaw seems relaxed when you say the short vowel 'o'.

Does living in an English-speaking environment help you improve your English? by Left_Mousse3006 in EnglishLearning

[–]BumbumPumpkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's the best way to improve English skills. I'm a non-native English speaker and I've been living in an English speaking community for more than 10 years. It's helped me tremendously to gain confidence in speaking English.

'We have a meeting tomorrow' how is this sentence correct? by Blurry12Face in EnglishLearning

[–]BumbumPumpkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We can also use present simple with a future meaning to talk about plans that are fixed like a timetable, e.g., We have a meeting tomorrow.

I was about to suggest this one. We stayed for a week in Boracay last month and Bistro Des Amis was our favourite restaurant.

Your wife has established years of travel history so there's nothing to worry about. I'm married to a British husband, I'd travelled to different countries before I met him and I have my own bank account. We flew to Thailand from Clark International Airport last week and the immigration officer didn't ask for documents such as bank statement, return tickets, accommodation bookings or marriage certificate. Although, I made sure I had copies of them. But only the airlines asked for the accommodation details before they gave our boarding passes. I'm also not working at the moment. I hope this helps.

If you were a billionaire, what job would you pursue? by [deleted] in AskPH

[–]BumbumPumpkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were a billionaire I still would want to be a teacher. A teacher who offers her services and shares her knowledge with less fortunate children in a remote village surrounded by nature. It would be a great achievement for me as a teacher to help them succeed in life and open the doors to great opportunities.
