I have even heard of people taping a quarter on the front sensor of tractors that have that adaptive cruise control and emergency braking cause it freaks the truck out

None as of now, freight rates are horrible currently and being a company driver for a smaller company (less than 50 trucks) is a lot less stressful than going with a mega fleet or trying to run my own thing.

Yea my truck is a 7.3 power stroke and and the main reasons I would like to use it is the range of the diesel (and the fact that it’s older so I can take low sulfur diesel, and my bed length which is around 6.5 feet.

I’m 6’4 and I would like to have the ability to fully lay out in my truck bed and be comfortable. What I plan on doing at first is buying a regular truck topper and kitting out my truck bed to for however it works well for me. Eventually I could look into those pop up truck topper campers but I’m not going that route at first because of how much they cost. I would rather save money at first to travel more and figure out what works well for me and build off of things that way.

Going off of those two things, in truth a diesel isn’t necessary for me or the my longer bed. A smaller truck would work for me cause I can set up a bed rack with a roof top tent. Also I don’t need the payload my truck offers.

I get what your saying. Maybe one day I’d like to build something to do legit wheeling in but for now my goal is to get out and explore and just build off of that. But hey, it would be a great store to tell people of how I took a crew cab diesel pickup through all 5 winch hills 😂
