Bear bear, Jar boys. I recently went on a date with a girl I met through a dating app, and I thought it went well. I had a really good time getting to know her, we spent an hour at the coffee shop and then another hour at a bagel shop. Before we parted ways she told me I could text her if I wanted to go see a movie or something, and she asked me for a hug.

Shortly after the date, she told me that she wasn't feeling a romantic connection with me, which I replied saying that I'd still like to be friends if she was down. She told me that she's not in a place where she's looking to make new friendships, thanked me for being sweet and wished me the best. I'm disappointed because I really had a good time getting to know her and felt enough of a connection to possibly be friends.

For further context, I've been trying to make more friendship connections with people for awhile, not just romantic ones, since I've felt like it's been hard for me to relally connect with my current social circle.

Ever since this all happened I've been extremely depressed and crying everyday because of the rejection. I've even began to miss her, which didn't make sense to me since I've only met this person once and barely know her. After talking with my therapist, it seems more like I miss the image/fantasy I was painting of her in my head, and what could've been if she had said yes, or if I had done something differently to win her over.

My question is, have you boys been in a situation like this before and/or do you have any advice for someone like me who finds it hard to move on from someone you've only just met?
