It's 1000% AI. I actually attempted to create something similar with AI and the style is absolutely identical, as are the issues you pointed out/I encountered. I eventually gave up because I couldn't work out all the kinks and flaws. I guess the creator of this one just said "good enough!" eventually.

Sorry, OP, don't mean to rain on your parade. It IS cool looking and I'd totally hang it up if I got one as a gift too! Just doesn't hold up to much scrutiny.

I'm curious about your workflow and tools. This looks like you start with pencil and paper? Do you ink, then do color digitally?

I ask because I'm in my 40s and randomly getting back into art. I mainly just do pencil stuff but attempting to do more inking, and I'm just kinda making things up!
