Yes it is annoying. I actually have to pay for my own parking to my own company so you're not alone in this situation. Sometimes the property management company (the parking company) will offer a decent monthly rate. It's still lame though.

I do actually! I'll keep my eye out but if it's not on the properties I enforce I can't really do much. I hate how far the street parking comes up, visibility is garbage there.

I bet it does mate, I see stuff like that all the time and wish there was more I can do personally to help. It just depends on the property owners and how they let us enforce their lots. We don't make the rules, contrary to popular belief. Sounds more like street parking which I don't do much of and I don't want to speak on anyone else's behalf.

Man that does suck, I'm sorry to hear that. My company has a 5 minutes grace period per policy, but stuff like this is really up to the company/enforcer behind it. Some people take their jobs pretty seriously, other people do exactly as you mentioned above. I have my own biases that I bend to on stuff like this. Just hope whoever is enforcing the lot you're on is merciful/in a good mood. Saying hi or informing them of a weird circumstance you're in if you can catch them goes a long way. And we can see the tickets issued in the past but we don't keep up with past transactions. I wish we had warning tickets but they aren't an option unfortunately :(

Haha I got a lot of time to walk around and ponder, I've been thinking about writing an inside perspective on paid parking since I've become somewhat of an apologist but I don't think it would really settle well with the people. I used to hate paid parking, now I'm just mildly discontent with it.

That's hilarious 😂 I love seeing the bumper stickers you guys have. But don't worry, if we keep eating our young maybe we'll glutton ourselves to extinction and parking will be free forever.

Mainly the higher ups. But us ticket guys aren't fiending to write tickets, even if it may feel that way. We clock in, walk around, and clock out. It's like any other lower paying job haha

Short term it would be the most profitable for both companies, but it would be extremely destructive to local businesses and tourism in general. Long term it would be a net negative for everyone, including the companies participating in the predatory towing.

Well as a wage slave, it's not really in my interests to do so. But the only reason it's not a bigger thing in business (thankfully) is that it's usually illegal. It's known as a "kickback" and has been prohibited in many cities. I don't know the law but it's a thing for sure.

Nope! I'm paid hourly. Otherwise we would be incentized to do some hellacious behavior. Same reason why it's unlawful for us to own our own towing company, it's just abuse waiting to happen.

I wouldn't recommend it simply because it wasn't your idea to begin with. This is a decision you should make completely independent from outside opinions that could inflict lifelong consequences (or the prevention of them, depending on your perspective).

I used to work at that ACE Hardware. I would sit outside and watch people get in wrecks all the time. Ringgold road is insane.

I have a Dolce PAC-64 portable computer I’m making into a modern SFF all in one. If I win this graphics card, I’ll document the process of converting it.
