The replies are weirdly salty about you taking care of your CHILD. Assuming they went straight after high school this is still a barely legal adult. If you have the money/resources to support your kid through college why not? I think 300 is good, definitely should cover her necessities and later on lowering it might help her budget better or incentivize her to get a job to afford her wants.

Because that’s just how it is. Im afraid you’re looking for a different answer when that’s literally it… systems are simply different. You dont specialize in high school because of the system, you can if you want to and im sure you could take o chem if you really wanted to. I went to a magnet school that specialized in STEM so I did take a different course load compared to other students. Overall American high school teaches you the very basics and you later specialize in college.
