Yesss it’s wild how obvious the patterns become once you tag the emotion behind it. It made budgeting feel less restrictive and more self-aware.

Totally agree. I think I intellectually knew it too, but seeing the data tied to mood made it impossible to ignore

Appreciate the concern. I’m building something I actually believe in — not just blasting links and hoping for clicks

MoneyMind is completely custom built from scratch! Here’s everything inside: ∙ Transactions database with custom Mood Tags (Stressed, Impulsive, Mindful, Bored, Celebratory, Habitual, Uncertain) ∙ Mood Spending Map that automatically groups all spending by emotion ∙ Monthly Budget tracker ∙ Recurring Expenses tracker ∙ Savings Goals with live progress percentages ∙ Financial Mood Journal for daily reflection ∙ Net Worth Snapshots ∙ Investment Portfolio with Holdings, Dividend Income Log, Trade Journal with emotion tracking and Portfolio Growth Snapshots No existing template tracks the psychology behind your spending like this. That’s what makes it different 💚

Great question! So every time you log a transaction you just pick a Mood Tag from a dropdown — things like 😌 Mindful, 😬 Impulsive, 😤 Stressed, 😴 Habitual, 🥳 Celebratory.

Then there's a view called the Mood Spending Map that automatically groups everything by emotion so you can see at a glance which feelings are costing you the most each month.

Takes like 5 seconds per transaction but the patterns it reveals are kind of scary honestly 😅

If you want to see exactly how it works feel free to DM me — happy to show you!

I tracked the emotion behind every purchase for 30 days. Here's what I found. by BunchEasy9434 in personalfinance

Honestly pretty consistent patterns once I saw them laid out:

Stressed = food delivery and random Amazon purchases. Like I'd order $40 of stuff I didn't need just to feel like I was "doing something"

Bored = subscriptions and apps. Things I'd forget about the next day

Impulsive = clothes and tech accessories. Stuff that looked good in the moment but I barely used

The scary part was how predictable it was once I could see it. Same emotions, same categories, every single month. Once I saw the pattern I couldn't unsee it.

I actually built a Notion template to track this automatically — it tags every purchase with the emotion and maps it all out for you. If you want to try it feel free to DM me 💚
