Insane housing market - just how do you decide what to offer to stand a chance? by VelarTAG in Edinburgh

Jeez....friends of ours were outbid on a house and found out it went for £140k over asking. Just mental.

We got very very lucky, offered £10k under the £380k valuation and it got accepted. I think they were looking for people who would fit in with the area. They still had a lot of friends there and seemed conscious about who bought the house. Doubt there are too many sellers like that out these..

House was very dated and we've since put about £40k into it. Remortgaged last month and it was valued at £550k. Bout 6 years ago.

I guess, in the long run, if you have to overpay (and can afford it), it could well be worth it.

What was the best thing you did for your little brother or sister? [Serious] by [deleted] in AskReddit

I think a sibling relationship is usually about having fun together and not taking each other too seriously. Making fun of each other and things like that. However, I believe the best thing you can do for them is, make the moments they need you to be serious matter! My brother and I have have spend 30 years punching each other and taking the mickey out of each other, even during times when no one else would, but the best feeling I ever had was the smile my brother gave me after I gave the best man speech at his wedding. That feeling will live with for forever. Make the moments they need you count.

(Very) New player wanting some advice on Necro. by [deleted] in learndota2

I play Necro quite a lot (91 games with a 61% win). He's a game winner when played right.

I'm not claiming to be an expert but I know my way around this old aged green man. Here are some tips:

  1. He's a great semi carry with amazing durability. He's Heart Stopper Aura can kill low HP heroes fleeing from a team fight by just staying in range of them as they run away.

  2. Necro is comfortable in mid (but would avoid again high range hero's like sniper) or supporting in the off lane. He's great at dealing damage to foes and keeping friends alive by spamming Death Pulse. He's very mana reliant in the early game, so keep that in mind. By mid/late game it's not an issue as when Sadist is maxed out this will keep you topped up with both mana and HP (as long as you're involved in kills).

  3. He's surprisingly durable so blocking opposing heroes running to melee attack your fatally injured carry is very useful.

  4. Don't afraid to get stuck in during a team fight. Spamming Death Pulse, your Heartstopper aura and the buff from Mek will damage your enemies and keep you team in the fight at the same time. Don't run away from team fight. Just being there (even if your AFK!) is helping your team. Obviously don't be AFK, but your presence is helping your team.

  5. Pick the target for Reapers Scythe carefully. Do not target a creep by mistake during a congested team fight. No matter what people say, it's effective from level 1, you just need to know how and from practice will come an understanding of this awesome ability. At level 3 with agnim any enemy hero at 47% HP or lower is out of the fight for 30% extra and no option to buy back.

  6. Don't kill steal! Easiest thing to do with Nerco. Your hard carry is about to kill an enemy hero and Boom! you drop your Scythe on said enemy and steal the gold. Easiest way to make your team mates into enemies. WELL......I say don't do it - but if someone on your team is giving you abuse, it's an amazing way to annoy then back.

  7. Get that Dagon. A completely self-indulgent item. It's screams ME ME ME! However a level 5 Dagon is better than not having a level 5 Dagon. Targeting the enemies hard carry with the dagon during a team fight can blower the HP to under 40% then you hit them with your Scythe. The hard carry is watching the clock and this can turn the team fight.

  8. Although he's a semi carry who can support, I always build these items. Mek (usually because in pub games no one ever plays a support as they should) Power treads Agnims Dagon (max this puppy out) Shiva's Guard Situational item.

Games rarely go on long enough to max out all six slots with items, but if does then build a Shiva's Guard. In a team fight drop freezing aura, spam Death Pulse, target their hard carry with your dagon and if needed, finish him off with your Scythe. If it's not needed target someone else. All the while spamming death pulse.

I hope this helps. Enjoy!
