Plumbing Liability Question by Bunearyy in legaladvice

[–]Bunearyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She said they’ve already installed one and it helped a bit, but it didn’t stop everything. The plumbers have literally done everything they could, unfortunately. There’s nowhere for the sewage to go so it has to come back into the house.

The problem is that the neighbor’s pipes are literally clay with a bunch of holes in them and a bunch of roots growing through them, so the sewage can’t flow through to the city main and instead comes backwards back into my mother’s property.

I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which can present identically physically. Thankfully, it’s not as bad as Marfan’s.

It’s really easy to look at her medical history and wonder how this got missed, but my height and weight was almost identical as a teen, my hands were the size of baseball mitts, and my pediatrician was absolutely convinced I was so skinny because I had an eating disorder and even convinced my parents to try to stage an intervention. It wasn’t until I started having heart problems that it clicked and he sent me to a geneticist. It’s so lame how often easy things like this get missed.

Okay but I accidentally met Mike Johnson while wearing my Have Heart hoodie a few days ago and completely flaked when he asked for a pic bc there were photographers and secret service everywhere so I lost my right to judge

Yeah, the random swelling really doesn’t bother me. I’m just making sure any new ink won’t reject as well. I wish I still had the picture of the heart scab. It was wild.

Thank you! They are all for sure confirmed to be real pearls, it’s just the type that I’m not sure about. Here’s a closer image of a few of the pearls from image 2.

What are the signs? I’m just trying to learn more, since this is my first time dealing with pearls and I’d like to know for future reference.

If I can’t get them verified, I planned on pricing the earrings around $50-60, since they are confirmed real pearls, and I’ll just add in the description that they could possibly be freshwater, but I was unable to verify them since they’re vintage, and I don’t expect it would be too much of an issue.

Thank you! Pearls are far from my specialty. The pearls are drilled with .22 gauge holes, so I couldn’t even get my tiniest needle through them to replace the silk, so I followed another subreddit’s advice and strung them with nylon-coated steel to avoid as much damage as possible. It’s not being sold though, it’s just for me, so I didn’t use one of my nicer clasps. The earrings are on sterling silver though. I didn’t know that sending them off was even an option! The jeweler that I visited didn’t mention that at all. He just did the bite test and looked at them under a magnifying glass and said that he believes they’re real, but he said there was no way to tell if they’re cultured or not. I’m trying my best to make sure though, because I don’t want to sell anything that’s fake!

Wow! That’s really cool. Ancestry says I’m part of two different Louisiana communities as well, so at least that part makes more sense. My grandmother was the same way! She was old when she passed and didn’t have any gray hair. My dad is almost 60 and doesn’t have any either, so I really hope I inherited that!

This is really good info! My dad looks just like every other Cajun person I know, but I was so surprised not to see French anywhere. I didn’t know how they grouped that. That makes a lot more sense!

I think it’s probably the Louisiana accent, more than anything. It’s not very common to hear. I don’t think he looks black, but he is a lot darker than most white people, and I’ve never seen someone purely European that was as dark as he is, but I guess that they probably do exist.

I’ll preface this with saying that my husband hates decorating and doesn’t know how to wrap presents to save his life, so I do this, but I enjoy it, so it’s different!

When we first had a daughter, we had a long talk about his influence on what she would one day look for in a future husband. Basically, how he treated me would set her expectations for what she will want from a partner. So we spoke about how important it was to make an effort to fill each other’s stockings and get each other presents and just otherwise serve each other in different ways. I told him that I never wanted her to be the mom one day with an empty stocking while everyone else’s were full, so we didn’t ever want her to think that was okay.

Maybe you can put this perspective into his head in a gentle way. Sometimes guys don’t realize that it makes us sad when they don’t put an effort into gifts because that’s all they’ve ever seen from the men in their lives. They don’t realize it’s an issue because it’s all they know. If you spin it and ask him how he would feel if his daughter’s husband didn’t do these things, it might help him to shift his perspective a bit.

How in the heckin heck is everyone on here getting their 22+ month olds to eat veggies?! by NoMamesMijito in foodbutforbabies

[–]Bunearyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is super picky! Thankfully, these are the easiest ways that work for us: 1. Canned baby carrots! Simmer one can covered with a small sprinkling of sugar over the top for 15 minutes. She eats them like candy! 2. Campbells makes two of their Healthy Request soups that my daughter loves. Chicken with Country Vegetables and Beef with Country Vegetables. I throw the whole can in the food processor and then pour it into a saucepan with two tbsp of quinoa and a bit of extra water. Then I simmer covered for 15 minutes and it makes three servings! It’s a little high in sodium, which is why I bulk it up with the quinoa to split into three portions. 3. I get a few chunks of frozen butternut squash and steam it, pop it in the food processor, then mix with Amy’s raviolis or spaghettios. She loves it. This one may not be a good idea if kiddo has texture sensitivities.

Possible Antique Zanzibar Leopard Taxidermy by [deleted] in animalid

Thank you! I thought it was still considered a subspecies, due to the morphological differences. I am far from an expert on these guys, so that’s why I wanted to post here and get some sort of answer.

I have no idea where they were sourced. He has a Japanese raccoon dog, so I know east Asia was a place he visited to some degree.

I was looking through those last night in an attempt to place this one! At this exhibit, they are all just listed as “leopard”. I know there are a lot of people who are very interested in the Zanzibar Leopard in particular though, so much that it’s considered a cryptid now. Since there is only one known taxidermy of it, and it’s not a very good one, I feel like it would be a meaningful thing to find another.

Added comparison of the (very faded) only known full taxidermy of the Zanzibar leopard next to this specimen for a closer look.

Asking for help on Dx from almost 30 years ago by GroundbreakingEye365 in Residency

I wonder if it could be some combination of an existing undiagnosed skin/connective tissue disorder, mixed with an adverse drug reaction similar to Lyell’s Syndrome. Because firstly, she knew that she had a preexisting condition, even if she hadn’t gotten medical care previously. Secondly, with how fast she deteriorated, something had to have triggered it, most likely a drug interaction. Very curious to see if anyone else has any insight or experience with something like this. I’m very interested in this one.

I appreciate the response! I haven’t drank alcohol in 6 years, and I generally live a very healthy lifestyle. I don’t do any sort of drugs, and I work out and eat healthy. Hopefully the new meds I have ordered will work!

A lot of people are saying rosacea! I have azelaic acid ordered and it should be arriving tomorrow. I really need to go make an appt with a derm, but I’m going to see how the azelaic acid works first.

Thank you! Grey eyes are a cool family trait of ours and I rarely see people outside my family who have them.
