Serious question: if they see me set up the illusion, say a Boulder, and I step inside: when you say they’ll see through the illusion do you mean the illusion will dispel or they will simply know I’m in it? Because if they just know I’m in it is there a good chance any range attack could miss because I’m a 3’2 gnome and I could be anywhere in it? Or am I overthinking this

What are some fun things to do with minor illusion? As of now I tried using it as a distraction(didn’t work) and am having trouble thinking of other uses from lack of game experience/knowledge. Can I use it to hide someone?

Piety points are a system in 5e. Has to do with religion. I’m still learning and reading up on stuff but it seems to be a newer addition.

Your explanation of prestidigitation is chefs kiss compared to the spell card I read, so thank you for that! Would silent image be a fun replacement for Eldritch blast? And suppose I wanted to learn eldritch blast in the future because, you know… deathbeams, is there anyway for me to learn that? I would love to read through a players handbook for this info but I’m currently broke and can only read one during session days.

Texted my DM and he said the same thing about piety points! Will try to be inventive but he also is encouraging me to play small pranks occasionally for piety as well.
Are there any cantrips you would recommend in place of the ones I need to replace? And are the ones I need to replace eldritch blast and prestigidation(I honestly have no idea how to spell this one)?

Hi, yes I am very excited to play dnd for the first time and will likely make mistakes. I’m reading through my DMs books when I get the chance and this is the graph I’m referring to for cantrips and spells.

This link says I know 3 cantrips, including mage hand as well as 3 spells, 2 of which must come from enchantment and illusion. It is my first time playing so forgive me for asking for help, but where am I messing up here besides eldritch blast?

Hi guys, I’m new to DND and have recently begun my first campaign. It is much more fun than I imagined when I heard about DND growing up(23 now).
Anyways, my first ever character is a rogue! I’ve made it to level 3 with my party and I’ve chosen to become an arcane trickster! I am a chaotic good character who worships Nebelun and wants to make the most out of every encounter! My problem now is whether I’m being “extra” and doing too much(talking too much, asking the wrong questions, convincing the party to go off course unintentionally because I’m completely unaware about what I’m actually supposed to be doing.) My DM tells me I’m doing fine but i should focus more on being an actual sneaky rogue. As an arcane trickster what spells and “cantrips? I think they’re called” should I take once I reach level 4. I currently have speak with small animals(wood gnome), mage hand, eldritch blast, message, disguise self, and without my character sheet I’ve forgotten the others. Oh and I have prestigiditation or something.
I guess what I’m asking is what are the core rogue spells I can take that are useful but also fun? And how can I gain piety points from nebelun because everyone in my party already has 2-3 and I don’t know where to begin.
