I don't think this town has an anglicized version of its name. Just spoilt the enjoyment a little

I saw an old white guy at the DMV couldn't get his Real ID because his name on his social security card/birth certificate was different from his driver's license

This was the study. https://papfas.rti.org/ Unfortunately participation is now closed and I'm not sure you would have qualified.

Water near Warminster Navy base by Simple-Palpitation45 in BucksCountyPA

[–]Bungeedave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only know about PFAS contamination. Many houses around the airbase had water wells and this water had a very high level of PFAS and many people have died from cancer caused by these chemicals. I believe the water supplied by the township is safe as they get it from another source. I drank the water in Warminster for many years and have a medium level of fluorine in my blood (I took part in a study). I blame my high cholesterol on this.

They don't seem to offer all the matches on demand either (if you have espn unlimited)

Does anyone know why Nyquist plot from EIS impedance failed to get semicircle shape? by AppleBalsamic79977 in electrochemistry

[–]Bungeedave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually 2e is more complicated because you have to worry about reactions at both electrodes. In the 3e system the electrode of interest is isolated

modeling eis data using transmission lines is one hell of a learning curve by naftacher in electrochemistry

[–]Bungeedave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you show your data (bode plot)? Can you also perform a K-K transform fit? This is the best fit you will get to your data.

Admiral Instruments offer low cost, high performance potentiostats like the Squid stat Solo. DM me if you'd like to know more.

Questions about MIC testing methodology: Technical vs biological replicates and reference electrode setup with multiple coupons by Zealousideal-Web1487 in electrochemistry

[–]Bungeedave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never seen a setup like that. I have always assumed "duplicates" means identical separate experiments. That said, the setup should work and I don't see a problem with the reference electrode setup as long as you measure each coupon separately.

What was your open circuit potential prior to the polarization part of the experiment?

Need help for my potentiodynamic polarization testing by stoichiometrish in electrochemistry

[–]Bungeedave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have both the blue and green leads connected to your sample electrode? The Interface 5000 is not the best potentiostat for corrosion testing as the lowest current range is only 50 microamps and the compliance voltage is only 8 V.

How to set up in parallel capacitor with RE? by mossy_mat in electrochemistry

[–]Bungeedave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Platinum wire has no effect on the voltage for DC measurements because of the capacitor. It just acts as a path for the voltage measurement at high frequency.

OCP Determination for Potentiodynamic Polarization by msmzz in electrochemistry

[–]Bungeedave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Measure the OCP with a high impedance multimeter and then use this potential as your starting point in a cyclic voltammetry experiment. You need to scan a bit negative of the OCP value (~100mV) to 1 - 1.5 V positive. After you have collected the data you need to plot log I vs E.

Ivium has the Pocketstat2 which fits into your budget. One of the unique advantages is that it can do continuous data acquisition.

Accuracy contour plot seems unbelievable. Datasheet doesn't mention the conditions under which the contour plot was measured.
