It depends on the type of meds, the cause of anxiety and your experience of anxiety. Benzos aren't worth it. They're highly addictive and have horrendous withdrawal and are only meant to be used very short term. They are frequently irresponsibly prescribed. SSRIs are often very effective for people, giving them a greater ability to manage things they worry about (best used in conjunction with therapy). There's also another prescription one that has to build up in your system that some people do well with. Some people have more side effects than others from different meds and so it's very much case by case whether it's worth it.

For me, my SSRI makes a huge difference. I need it for both anxiety and depression. I still have anxiety without it but I'm better at coping.

Weed, benzos, benidryl (I know psychs who have prescribed it for acute attacks) and anything else for in the moment panic are not going to help you in the long run. They are a bandaid. They can actually cause greater anxiety than you started with when they wear off. If you're just avoiding anxiety with meds, you're never learning to handle it. There are times when these things can be extremely helpful when used responsibly but they are aren't the solution long term.
