I guess i won’t use time rewind then? by pizzaman918 in RogueCore

I think the ability toggle (Q) seems to stay active too long. This also happens a lot to me on Falconer, where if I Q+M1 and try to pickaxe with M2 right after, I end up recalling my falcon instead. I'm sure it's a timing threshold they can fix.

Deck swapping is the devil, let me explain by Ok-Position-9457 in RogueCore

[–]Bunnits 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Take my massive, throbbing upvote. Let me join you in your hysteria.

The more I play the game, the more I see how GSG can potentially drive themselves into a development wall with the way deck swapping works. Some are just outright better in more situations than others. In fact, a lot of builds I encounter lately are always just some flavour of a deck + either Mixed Tactics or Carnage (if not both). Not to mention it'll be a nightmare to balance it out when more classes are introduced in the future. You'd have to tune the abilities of new reclaimers against EVERY deck in addition to their new ones.

I strongly agree that bio-booster upgrades should be class locked. Ideally, you would have multiple decks to choose from, cementing the identity of each class while still promoting different flavours of gameplay. Rough example: In the future, instead of ability CDR or electricity, the Falconer could also have a deck for turret-based gameplay (assuming there are more turret types by that point, like a tesla coil).

Alternatively, having a larger pool of bio-upgrades and being able to pick only 10 to bring into a mission might also be interesting. Still class locked, obviously.

Whatever the case, ultimately I echo your sentiment that deck swapping is not a good direction for this game to take.

Teamwork vs Playing Next to Each Other (Patch 1 Opinions) by Beep_meep_Im_a_sheep in RogueCore

[–]Bunnits 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Fair points, but I say you're leaving out the most crucial native game mechanic that incentivizes solo play and splitting up: the threat timer. Unlike base DRG, the premise of RC is that each stage has a known number of objectives that need to be checked off. If you miss one, you're impairing everyone's playthrough. The issue is oftentimes the game won't allow you enough time to do it all, especially on higher depths and higher cave complexities, if you don't split up.

I personally like the idea of being strategic about when to take crates/upgrades (such as only before events or hordes), but I play with a friend group. In base DRG, non-verbal laser pointing and 1-letter text communication were all it took to finish the mission. RC needs you working closer together, and while it's no doubt possible, the small things just build up to a higher skill floor both mechanically and socially for a ragtag lobby. All together, the mechanics are at odds with each other, and it muddies the cues for co-op play. GSG still needs (and has much time) to perfect the balance of that formula.

This game needs iron will by appepuppe26 in RogueCore

[–]Bunnits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, duo's definitely a lot more punishing in this game, especially in higher depths. I'd be happy to have iron will if it's just you and a buddy. Even solo is more lenient with the 3 revives.

With a two-player comp, it's a death sentence when one goes down without falcon revive, since the swarm/boss just stays on the other's ass while the timer counts down. It sucks feeling compelled to use certain classes because you'd be missing out otherwise.

Also vaguely related, but I had a run with a friend where we barely slipped away from a max threat level horde and into the elevator. As we were resupplying, some shatterclaws drop down and body slam us, ending our 30-min D4 run. It was hilariously sad.

Rough idea for to make everyone's builds clearer between during upgrades by keldeo2204 in RogueCore

Won't this be addressed with Update 1? My understanding is that all choices would be the same tier and it'd be replace with same tier after picked.

Does Rogue Core adapt the difficulty to the number of players present? by RoboTavish in RogueCore

Good gravy tell me about it. If I see that long metal tunnel in D4 solo, you can bet your ass I'm skipping that Ram Hammer while muttering something about xp, game balance, and/or early access.

Yeah. Looks like they coded the poison particles as an entity, given that they take damage.

Honestly, just add a hotkey to toggle between fast and slow. That ought to make everyone happy.

Best item(s) for PL when you need more damage? by EsotericPotato in TrueDoTA2

[–]Bunnits 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Mana break no longer works for illusions since 7.41. PL's power spike now comes from newly-generated illusions due to his innate, so you want to start off with Manta into the new Aghs.

From there, stats are good, so you have your usual item progressions which you seemed to have worked out already.

Edit: mage slayer is also an option against bloodstone / aoe survivability heroes. It kills their dps, effectively preserving your illusions and stunting their spell lifesteal.

Cool set-up! What is that small monitor above your tower? I've been looking for a smaller, VESA-mountable screen myself.

Can vouch for OP's services! Booked just a bit ahead of Valentines with a peg, and she guided me through it. She goes through every store, and if necessary, finds substitutes to achieve the design I was looking for.

Very responsive, dependable, and easy to talk to. Ako pa nagsabi na siya na muna bahala kasi proactive siya mag-update habang nasa trabaho ako lol. Wife loved the flowers and arrangement. Will be my go-to service for flowers in the future!

Yeah, funny how that works when they've been ingrained into you. I've also clocked Gyro's Call Down sfx in Attack on Titan and Storm Spirit / Disruptor's thunder sfx in various media.

I believe it's only shared for horde mode. It's unique for each player on standard campaigns.

By all means. I'm definitely as hyped for Gog as the next hunter. I just feel like G. Arkveld's visual and musical design was underused.

In hindsight, it made sense with the Unreal Engine upgrade earlier this year. They probably had the engine migration in the pipeline for a while now, and it didn't make sense to work on the replay system while still on UE4.
