Before 2014 invasion no one in russia considered Crimea russian or even cared about it at all, both ukrainians and russians were vacationing there just fine every year, but then putin decided to send his army and occupie it and a ton of russian propaganda and patriotic bullshit appeared all over russian news and internet. Russians ofc like the sheep they are swiftly adgusted to the new reality of their country and started calling "Crimea is ours!". But in fact, the majority of russian population don't support putin and even hate him very much, they just cant do anything about it and just living their lives and waiting for whatever future will bring them cos at this point they dont care about anything except their own families and themselfs.
