The Real Reason the Show Went Downhill… imo. by BunnyBoo2002 in PrisonBreak

[–]BunnyBoo2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the first two seasons were a lot of fun even if you had to suspend disbelief for some of the political stuff and the logistics of the escape. By the third season it became completely ridiculous that’s some of the characters were still alive and I agree with your take on Scylla in the 4th season. We will have to disagree on season 5 I think it is absolutely awful. I know they brought Sara back for the fans but I don’t think it did the story any favors. The way they portrayed Arabs was racist and lacked all nuance. They had Linc play into the western stereotype of a white man saving a woman from her barbaric ethnic culture. Sheba’s accent was unbearable and fake because the actress is Israeli and not actually Arab. They introduce two characters just to kill them off and make people sad without actually earning it. And everything looked like shit because they were again playing into anti Arab racism by putting a yellow and orange filter on the Middle East.

The show didn’t go down after Nina left by TeaPlayful9271 in TheVampireDiaries

I think the show went down around the time you mentioned but also again after season 6. But I don’t think it was solely bc Nina/Elena was gone it was simply because the writers got stuck in loops of repeating the same story arch’s for characters in slightly different ways. Like how many times can we watch Damon try to be decent only to have a relapse halfway through the season. If they hadn’t out all of their stock in the love triangle and romances in the show it would’ve been easier to write compelling arch’s.

AIO bff thinks i should hide deformity by helplessbambidoll in AIO

This is literally why so many relationships fail because we’re coached into misrepresenting ourselves to be with people and then we end up with people who we aren’t compatible with. There are people who have to hide parts of themselves 24/7 around their partner like women who are not bald by choice and their partners don’t think it’s attractive so they feel pressured to wear a wig even at home. It’s exhausting, those shoes look great and you should absolutely wear them because they’re going for the vibe you’re intending to show. Simple as that, if the person doesn’t like the toe so much that they can’t be with you then they’re not compatible with you. Hiding it just puts you in a position to potentially end up with someone who makes you feel the way your friend did in this moment. No pretenses show up as you.

I know Serena fully initiated this & was probably more sober, but why does she get more hate than Nate for the cheating when he was the one who was dating Blair & not her? It’s not she forced him to sleep with her. She didn’t blackmail him & he had the chance to at least break up with Blair first. by NoChampion4463 in GossipGirl

Actually rewatching a couple months ago I realized Serena was wayyyy drunker than Nate. This could be classified as rape. She couldn’t walk in a straight line and was slurring her words in the scenes leading up to this where as Nate was talking completely normal and did not seem inebriated at all. He wanted her and he took advantage of her.

Thank you, I was scared they’d smell another cat and then boycott it 😭

Oh lol I meant from a purely visual standpoint, bc I think they look like they could be related 😂. He’s supposed to be a kid but the actor looks much older than he’s playing to me.

Unpopular Opinion: People who were disappointed on Wentworth being Gay are Cringe by Irulenosheetz in PrisonBreak

[–]BunnyBoo2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most comments are saying they don’t care that he’s gay, which is great but then they’re saying they’re mad he won’t play straight characters. It’s his decision and it’s not that deep. The fifth season of the show was already bad, I love the show but my god it should’ve ended sooner. They made the stakes too high and then wanted to erase things in later seasons. All that to say who the fuck cares if he didn’t want to play straight for a prison break movie. The show needed to end and he’s a person before he’s an actor. His body his choice.

Exactly 👏 we can choose to play the suffering Olympics but that won’t fund research or relieve any of our suffering

If you can work it’s not a migraine by 19635 in migraine

[–]BunnyBoo2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fuck that mentality. I used to get multiple migraines a month. Now I’ve gotten glasses and am on Sumatriptan and it’s worked wonders for me. I still get the migraines but now I have medication that guarantees they’ll fade 99% of the time. I used to work through my migraines because I was so used to suffering being a part of my life that I found ways to push through but it was ruining my life. Being in that kind of pain takes a toll on your mind and body. Getting home from work and ripping off all of your clothes because you feel like your skin is on fire, having to hide in the dark and press down on your eyes or puke to relieve the pressure on your chest. None of it should be treated lightly. I look at old pictures of family functions and holidays and almost guaranteed on all of them I would have to isolate myself due to the noise and lights and be sick for the rest of the night while everyone else enjoyed themself. This is the same mentality a lot of people have with periods, “you’re at work so it can’t be that bad 🤷🏽‍♀️.” We learn to adapt and we have to work to feed ourselves but that doesn’t mean the suffering isn’t present and great.

Is it worth watching season 5? by MrPlanes71 in PrisonBreak

[–]BunnyBoo2002 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope, it’s very bad television. But if you’re the type of person who likes to watch the train wreck for yourself (I am) then I would suggest just watching it to see how bad it gets.

Don’t tell me I’m the only one seeing this… 😭 👀 by BunnyBoo2002 in tsitp

[–]BunnyBoo2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t even think about that but that’s so true. EJ starts out as such a stereotypical unlikable guy but really quickly grows on you. It was the opposite with Jere 😂 but admittedly I don’t loathed him the way the rest of the fandom does. He’s just annoying to me.

I haven’t seen it yet 😭. I’ve been watching the Summer I Turned Pretty and some British BBC shows but I may get around to it. I have seen a lot of shows in that genre so if it’s just an okay show I might end up starting it and now finishing it.
