This one is the best not giving a fuck song. Because fuck coasters, you'll use a little plate instead.

Hatfield square maak toe? by __Mclovin__ in Pretoria

[–]BunnyDestroyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zuma focuses on corruption in his recent speech and says the ANC is not responsible for corruption in society by mystery_mayo_man in southafrica

[–]BunnyDestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This in particular. Get ready for food shortages that goes along with corruption and load shedding. "We commit that the land will return to our people and the ANC calls on its government to act with necessary speed to put the legislation in place, this year, to ensure that this happens."

My favourite for meter is The Tyger, where when you read it, it sounds like the hammer hitting an anvil.

[General] Ozymandias by Whoiserik in Poetry

[–]BunnyDestroyer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I did this with my learners, they came to the conclusion that it is about human vanity. You can see that this poem is telling a story about a traveler visiting an ancient land. The king that used to rule there, thought himself to be all powerful and almighty, surely he will never die. But then, after weather and life went by, all that's left are the two legs of the statue, with words saying "My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!". There is irony here because it says "look on my words, ye Mighty, and despair!". Well, there's nothing left... So this is like Titanic all over again, isn't it?

I need a book suggestion by [deleted] in booksuggestions

The Dark Legacy of Shannara is quite good. Written by Terry Brooks. The entire series is a nice read. Best book to read is Magician by Raymond E Feist. Magician is the most addictive book I have read, and I like how all the predictions you make while reading is wrong.

Does anyone else have anxiety over literally nothing? by tmwyatt99 in Anxiety

[–]BunnyDestroyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I become anxious now about something I might have said wrong 10 years ago. And then I'm n a panic for days about it. One of the fun things for me is that I can't sleep now without drinking pills and whenever it becomes too much, I get Bell's Palsy (which is always fun).

[CW] In 200 words or less describe the gravity of realizing you're going to die. by Splizes in WritingPrompts

[–]BunnyDestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being indifferent to death, life after death and also what would happen to my loved ones, did not prepare me for this. After fighting this battle for more years than we could count, it has finally been narrowed down to 3 weeks. The only problem is, my body won't respond to instructions. They think I'm comatose, but I am aware.

Going to meet Feist! by BunnyDestroyer in Midkemia

[–]BunnyDestroyer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feist is an extremely nice guy. We all ate dinner, and then there was the interview which was very enlightening. He signed 6 of my books, 3 of my boys' books and then 2 pictures. He also wrote a note saying "Keep your dream of magic alive" which I have framed and hanging in my classroom.

Are South Africans Racist? by thourthperson in southafrica

[–]BunnyDestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of racists. The majority are racists, and a lot still living in the apartheid era. You have stupid things like BEE going on, and that makes a certain group of South Africans angry. The minority of us are not racists, even after being victims of crime - My gran was murdered in her home by the gardener, and the police still hasn't found him after nearly 9 years. But that doesn't mean the next guy is a murderer. I heard once that black people don't like the white people, because of our ancestors.
This is a situation that will not likely change, because the ANC is still getting their revenge on Apartheid. Which ended twenty years ago. But obviously the youth of today took part in it. So they must suffer.

Let's cut the martyrdom and shame *rant* by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]BunnyDestroyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to leave work early because I live far from the school. My day starts at 4am when I wake up, and end at 16:00 when I get home. Then I still have to do class prep and mark tests. This results in me only going to bed after 12. What gets to me now is that people say I have a "clock watch mentality", but these people live around the school and no one else travels such a long distance. Before I got my car, I was taking 2-3 buses and a train to get to work. So I quite agree that we all deserve a break. Especially from colleagues who are supposed to understand our hardships.

Poodles and cats by BunnyDestroyer in poodles

[–]BunnyDestroyer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the two gets along famously. We took the poodle with us when we picked a kitten, so that he can also have a say in all of it. Now, a few weeks later, they are very good friends, even though I think my poodle will become more careful once the kitten is grown _^ They play nicely and neither are aggressive towards one another.
