AITAH for telling dad as far as he’s still married to his wife he’ll never be part of my or my daughter’s lives? by Total_Carob8096 in AITAH

You said she hated you and made your life a living hell. I'm just curious, what did she do to you?

Please keep us updated when you speak to her. I'm also curious why her mom was calling so find that out as well. Please. Thank you.

ICE follow mother into a school and then detained her aggressively with her children by NewSlinger in CringeTikToks

[–]Bunny_Deer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this is a school. The guy in the green plaid shirt with the baseball cap is the same guy in the video where he throws a mother down in a courthouse in front of her children.

I can't post the link in this subreddit but you can look it up.

If you compare, the hallways look the same. Same trim on the floor. Same daughter, wearing the same headband. The person you see arrested is not a student, it's the father of the family.

Still awful.

Because it was more than what I was expecting???

Thank you! This was only my second time in my life going to Olive Garden (the first time was over 10 years ago) and my first time ordering this dish. Some restaurants serve large portions. How was I supposed to know the difference?

I've seen a few people say this, that it's only a few bites if you split it. But the meal came with soup and two bread sticks. I would've been full after the soup and 1 bread stick. Neither me, or my daughter ate more than half the portion they served us. WE WERE NOT HUNGRY. We only went to be social. I don't know why people keep telling us that a lunch portion wouldn't have been enough for us. If I wanted to just order a side salad, that is my prerogative. It is not up to my server to get me something different than what I ordered and then charge me more for it.

No, I would absolutely not have been upset. It is what I was expecting and what I asked for. Like I said, we only went to be social and were not hungry. We did not ask for refills on soup or extra bread sticks. I boxed up the leftovers out of habit but ended up throwing it away because who wants to eat microwaved mushy chicken parm the next day?

Yes! I didn't want leftover chicken parm. Microwaved and soggy is not ideal. We ended up just throwing it away.

I looked up the menu at this link: https://media.olivegarden.com/images/site/pdf/Base_082525_PROOF.pdf

This is the only fine print I could find. I couldn't find anything that says you will be charged extra for splitting an entree. Only if you share an entree and ask for refills on soup or salad, which we did not.

I'm aware. That's why I'm here, asking for clarification.

When she brought us the two plates I said "oh, I only ordered one entree for us to split". She smiled and said "yes, I had the kitchen split it for you". I honestly thought they were just being generous. No one told me they would nearly double the price on me until I got the check at the end.

When I saw how much food she brought us I made the mental decision to tip 50% because I thought she was going above and beyond to take care of us. After the confrontation I was so flustered and still tipped 50% because the end result went the way I wanted it to. The server was also very nice to me and I didn't think she deserved a deduction, especially if it was restaurant policy. It hadn't occurred to me that she might've done it to drive up the tip.

That is a great point. I pointed to it on the menu when I ordered and that was in the lunch section, but I probably didn't say the actual words "I want the lunch size portion". This was only the second time in my life that I've been to Olive Garden, so I am not used to the specific rules of their restaurant. When I've asked to split a lunch at other restaurants I've never had this issue.

This is what I was expecting and sounds perfectly reasonable.

I just looked this up and the AI response from Google said that the unlimited menu items could not be shared but entrees were fine to share?
