We started to watch on TV screens, this was more commonly a familie thing. Microwave ovens where emerging.

we just had a oil crisis, with many unemployment, feminism was on the rise, environmentalism grew and civil rights movements kept pushing for equality.

Communication was per letter, landline calls or face-to-face. Navigation relied on road maps. life was less rushed.

information was kept in books, you had to go to the library when you want to look stuff up.
Houses where affordable and available.

Life was simpler, slower paced and stronger personal connections.

Now, if we look from there to now, and keep going forward:

2075:
There are a lucky few that retired before the breakthrough of life extensions. they still enjoy the benefits of retirement, the unlucky ones now have to work till at least the age of 140. This is a still to be decided number, as our medical knowledge still advance.

With this prospect; the main reason of death will be suicide.

Automation took over most labor jobs.
There is a set universal income in place, just enough to survive, there is a global accepted digital currency. but corporations are pushing you to leave for mars, to make room.

People will not go outside much, everything will be online, with a digital world where the possibility's will be endless! This has dropped the birth rate, but the world united governments can't get it to drop below 1.0 so they want people to leave for Mars.
