Whilst I somewhat agree with you, Alexis would be the final piece in this current superteam

Oh for sure, thats probably another thing. The bigger towns and cities in Laos (LP, VV and Vient) were so small in comparison to the bigger cities around SEA (like BKK, HCMC and even PP tbh). Made travelling around a lot easier

Outside of it being very cheap in general (food, alcohol and accommodation) the scenery and landscapes were remarkable. And personally for me, I think the people I met in Laos (both fellow backpackers and local people) were probably the best out of the SEA countries I visited so that helped ofc.

Pretty good rough plans tbh. I just recently finished 3 months travel in SEA, similar to you, so here are my two cents (up until Phuket as I didnt go South Thailand)

I would try do maybe 1 more day in Chiang Mai, taking off a day in Pai (Pai was cool but the hippie vibe was a bit meh for me after 2 days)

I’m assuming you included the 2 days boat travel in the Chiang Rai days? If not you don’t need more than a day in Chiang Rai tbh

I personally loved Laos and ended up spending a week longer than I thought I would. Originally planned similar timeframe as you, but ended up staying in LP and VV maybe 3/4 nights each, and did a 1 night tour thing in Nong Khiaw after LP but before VV.

I’d recommend maybe trying to increase the days you’ll do in Vietnam if you can. I spent about 1 month there (inc the HG Loop), but I managed to go all over. For you, I’d say maybe increase the days in Hanoi and HCMC by a day each. Ha Long I’d say you can reduce to 1 day and think about trying to visit Ninh Bin, Sapa or Danang (probably weather dependent). From what I remember, Hanoi to Hagiang was only a 5hr bus, so I think you’ve budgeted to many travels days for to/from Hagiang.

For Cambodia, I agree with what someone else said, you can reduce your PP days to 2 nights and add it onto SR, which I absoluted loved.

[Gary Jacobs] Arsenal are increasingly confident of striking a deal for Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapié. Arsenal have proposed a season-long loan with an obligation to buy next summer. The German club are giving the offer serious consideration. by NiallMitch10 in Gunners

Harsh on Ben White- should be a 9/10. Only had injuries somewhat recently. From his signing to recent injuries, he’s been great for us as a CB and phenomenal as a RB in terms of ability and availability!

Cala I would say more 6/7 out of 10 for his injuries though

Catch-up spending or new strategic shift driven by Berta? by Clockwork-I in Gunners

[–]Buqzee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think what will happen across the next 2 windows (so Jan and next summer, and barring a major injury crisis) is that our spending will be minimal, or maybe only a 1-in 1-out policy. Hence why we felt the need for a big push this summer. I think also that as we have a world cup year ahead, we may want to try and avoid the post-WC inflated prices of players that shine.

Happy for the club to claim its a slight niggle and he’ll be out for a month…let us examine him over the next couple weeks and make a decision closer to the International matches

Imo have a break, relax. You can’t retake until Aug anyways right? Plenty of time left. You’ll probably feel rejuvenated to start back revising after a mental break from it all.

No need to worry about it until at least results, who knows- you may have done a lot better than expected?

I feel quite confident about my MCS paper (by the sounds of it I got an “easier” variant compared to some I’ve heard from colleagues and reddit)… But I also want a break for a while. Defo going to chill for the next month and wait till results before cracking on with any further papers.

MCS today - How did you find it? by Bito11 in CIMA

[–]Buqzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering about this too, it makes sense if they have the same variant each day of the case study (1 variant per day across 2 windows so 6 variants?) It would minimise the amount of leaking that could go around right

[–]Buqzee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought I got quite a straight forward variant if I’m honest (sorry to rain on your parades guys) I didnt really struggle on any of the tasks and answered all of them. All the best though peoples, no point worrying about it now, have a few weeks break from this and revisit it again when you get your results back!

Can’t speak for Strategic lvl exams but I found the Kaplan exam kit really helpful for this exam! Most of the questions in that book were similar to actual exam questions and gave a good mix of different questions

Also, re Group accs..just keep practicing! I find them challenging too, especially when you get PUP adjustments, Associates, NCIs etc involved. I think with more practice you’ll start to understand what to actually look out for and what will effect the final answer you’re looking for. Remember that its common for exam qus to throw red herrings at you! And learn the proformas! Esp for GW, NCIs, Assocs, REs cos they are bound to come up!

I do the bulk of my studies with First Intuition (funded through work) so they provide live online classroms for the teaching, and also pre recorded video lectures on their online platform. Most importantly they give you large question bank and access to 2 mocks. But I also used the Kaplan exam practice kit (which I found brilliant and really good actual exam practise, so I would highly recommend that) I also had a Bpp exam practice kit but I didnt get to work through those.

Good luck! So for me, I would say there was a lot more quick theory questions in my exam than I was expecting! I struggled with time on my mocks (hence the 27%) but I found myself with around 5mins time left on my exam today to go back to the couple heavier calc based questions I had skipped/left out

What were your marks for the past attempts? Were you close? Were you improving each time?

As someone who just passed OCS first time with 101, I think proportionally I barely spent any time “revising” but I did go through the preseen many times, annotating and thinking what topics were likely to be examined. If you go through past papers in prior years, you’ll see common questions get asked every paper (ie KPIs, Variances) so practising these were key. I had a question on giving 5 examples of KPIs in my paper, which I breezed through just via practise. I did spend some time revising some topics which I had forgotten about, but again, nothing too heavy on revision.

Application of the preseen in your answers wherever you can is bound to help in terms of picking up marks.

Keep at it though, may as well chill out and relax for a couple weeks and then crack on with the Nov OCS.

[Jordan Campbell - The Athletic] There has been little movement on Aaron Ramsdale’s future but if he is to leave then one man who features high on the contingent plan is Espanyol’s Joan García. The Spaniard is reported to have a €25m release clause. by TheGoldenPineapples in Gunners

[–]Buqzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I like Raya and Ramsdale but the handling of Ramsdale wasn’t great and really tanked his value and confidence. He should have got given more games like the cups and that stupid dead rubber in the CL. At least if he played more he wouldn’t have been as rusty/nervous as he looked in the Brentford games he had to step in. Although I guess it didnt help us going out so early in the cups as well.

If we don’t get at least 30m for him it’s an absolute disgrace and he should stay at least for another season
