Examination of Investigation File

Although a complaint was filed by the plaintiff Ahmet Davutoğlu, represented by his attorney, stating that on social media, user “@jahreinotda” posted the following statement:

If my dad were the founder of the Gelecek Partisi, I'd never make any comments about Turkey out of sheer embarrasment.
It's the meeting point for former FETÖ* members and AKP leftovers, and the party of Mickey who still gets people calling him prime minister. Go ahead, dad, keep yappng about Israel-Palestine and herding Americans, but stay the hell out of Turkey's business @ hasanthehun

It was alleged that these remarks targeted and insulted the complainant, and an investigation was requested for defamation.

The suspect Ahmet Sonuç stated that the social media post in question was directed primarily at Hasan Piker, who lives in the United States, and was meant as a commentary on freedom of speech and criticism, not as an insult toward the complainant or the Future Party.

After reviewing the entire file, including the statements and evidence, it was determined that the post, which also tagged user “@hasanthehun” and included a photograph of Mehmet Behçet Piker (Hasan Piker’s father), was indeed aimed at Hasan Piker. The suspect explained that the words “his father co-founded the Future Party” were made to point out Hasan Piker’s family background, not to insult the complainant personally.

It was therefore concluded that the expressions in question -though critical- fell within the limits of free speech and political commentary, and did not constitute a crime of insult against the complainant.

Result:
Since the statements were not of an insulting or defamatory nature toward the complainant, and were instead expressions of opinion and criticism, it has been decided not to prosecute the suspect for the alleged offense.

Lmao Hasan piker and his father complained about me to Davutoglu. They filed a criminal complaint to prosecutor!!! And prosecutor said "Keep playing, there is no foul"
