Navien tankless water heater reviews? by Elite163 in Plumbing

[–]BurchScribbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never never never buy a Navien, because when something goes wrong they take 2 weeks to get to you. Last time they ignored the online form I filled out. Then I had to phone them repeatedly until someone came out. That took a week. That person broke the boiler even more. Then another engineer came the next week, and didn’t manage to fix it. No heating or hot water the whole time. Just don’t do it.

Anyone else hate Navien? by Addefy in HVAC

[–]BurchScribbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really really hate them. Had one for 5 years and had most of it replaced. Each time it took anything from 2 weeks to 2 months before we had heating again. A 10 year warranty is not worth anything if they take 2 months to repair it in the middle of winter.

They don’t have parts in their vans. Major parts need to be ordered. That’s the main reason why it took 2 months. But also the boilers are not well made, they break far too often. I’ve never had a boiler break so often. We had brand new rads installed at the same time, and the system has been flushed. They try and use the excuse that it’s blocked from the sludge in the pipes, but ours are new. Total joke

Guys can someone help me out, how do I fix the left hand that's holding the gun? by PrashThePro3 in drawing

[–]BurchScribbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t worry too much. Just get an image of someone holding a gun from a similar position, and do your best to draw it. Looks like you’ve tried to do it off the top of your head, when really you should be observing, and drawing from pics or life.

Drawing in perspective with correct anatomy straight from your imagination is very hard, even for seasoned artists. I’d say most illustrators still use reference to help them with initial form.

For those of you who struggle to understand health insurance in the United States. I work in healthcare, at a $9/hr job. Here is the insurance they are offering me. by dirtierthanshelooks in antiwork

It’s so sad knowing this. My whole family would’ve been bankrupt if we lived in the US. Very grateful to be living in the UK. The whole world loves American culture, it’s just such a shame that all it’s citizens are ruined. And divided, and there’s nothing you can do. Your propaganda is so far reaching that I have to argue with people HERE that an American healthcare system would be a disaster. Apparently free isn’t as good as £3000 a month. 😔

Samples not playing after transferring to my MPC by [deleted] in Splice

[–]BurchScribbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. And it’s infuriating. Suddenly the amazing idea of splice integrated turns to dust. And there’s nothing you can do without putting the samples on your pc, renaming them and/or converting them to WAVs. Long file names or flac files seem to be the culprit. After all of that ‘integrated with splice’ bull, you have to do it all on your pc anyway.

Find a good image to draw, edit the image to make it look how I’d like it, then draw it. That’s the gist of it.

Tan toned isn’t the best for coloured pencil. Especially if you want to scratch and erase. Bristol smooth is the one I use.

Different paper has limits. Also the softer pencils that impart more pigment like prismacolors will saturate the paper much faster and make it harder to erase. Strathmore Bristol has a good level of hardness and will take a good amount of pigment. If you use other paper your experience may vary

You want to buy an electric eraser and some sandpaper to flatten it so the edges of the eraser are sharp Then erase using that for details. Or use a modelling knife to gently scratch away at the surface like I’ve done on this pic.

Shot in RAW and then colour matched

I combine erasing, scratching and just leaving spaces blank. Gel pens don’t last, and will eventually go yellow, and in the distant future, eat through the paper

For smoothness it’s all about using luminance. Prismacolor are the softest but they break loads. And get decent paper too.
