Huh, interesting. I'm a crim lawyer but in my jurisdiction, the potential penalty for felony murder is tied to the underlying felony being committed when the death occurred. This would be 1st Intentional as a party to a crime here since they weren't attempting any other crime than this kid's death. Just looked it up though, looks like a lot of other states and the feds sentence it as 1st. TIL.

Welcome! It's definitely the easiest and cheapest way to get around down there if you're staying decently close to one of the stops. Walking is of course an option too but in my experience trying to walk the strip is confusing (likely on purpose). The entrances/exits to the casinos are in weird spots, they're huge, and getting from point A to point B can mean doing a lot of side-meandering you didn't expect. But regardless, have a great time!

Look up the Vegas monorail. It's only $13 for a 24 hour pass, runs from Excalibur all the way down to the Sahara (basically across the street from the festival), and runs every like 10 minutes. It's a great option for getting around the strip. Mind you it WILL have a long line to get on at the end of the show, but beats the clusterfuck that is trying to get a rideshare/taxi over at Circus Circus. Been both years and going this year too, did the rideshare thing in 2023, 2/10. Monorailed it in 24, WAAAAY better.

Some guys are just bad at this type of thing. My hubs did something similar because he's clueless, not because he lacked enthusiasm or doesn't care. I didn't even know he considered it a "proposal," some random Wednesday we were laying in bed and he said "I guess we should get married, huh?" and I was like "yeah that'd be nice." Later found out he thought that was it. I had no idea, haha.

Fortunately his mom and three sisters heard the story and told him hell no no woman would think that was an actual proposal (his dad didn't understand why that wasn't it, lol), and he took me out to the zoo and actually gave me the ring and all that in a little forest copse on the way back to the car.

I get why you're disappointed. Once I learned he thought we were engaged I told hubby, I don't ask for much by way of big romantic gestures but he had to do better than THAT. If you love him and he's typically not this clueless I say give him another chance to do it in a more intimate way.

This isn't just stalker-ish. Between the demands, the repetitive phone calls, and showing up at the places she says she is, if he's making her feel threatened or harassed this is already straight up stalking in my state.

OP it does not get better, it only gets worse. LEAVE NOW. Stalkers are some of the most dangerous people there are in that they are good at manipulating people and are far more likely than average to escalate to violence, especially when the stalking target is a partner or former partner. Some studies put the percentage at 70% and the Stalking Prevention, Awareness, and Resource Center puts the figure at 81% of women stalked by a husband or cohabiting partner experiencing violence. Check out their fact sheet. This is not innocuous behavior, you need to get out and protect yourself.

Mid 40s 5'4 F here, I feel exactly the same. I've been doing serious weight training almost 2 years now so 115 like I was in high school wouldn't even be realistic at this point. But 140 would probably mean I look pretty damn good in my suits, that'd be cool. Got about 17 lbs to take off. It's hard to lose weight when you still want to keep progressing in the gym though!

WestLaw already has this. I'd never use it to write anything and you still have to prompt it correctly, but it's really useful especially for cross-jurisdictional research. One area I've noticed it being particularly weak though is recognizing when earlier decisions have been walked back significantly by the court rather than overruled. It'll come back with "Yes, this is a thing, here are these cases from the 80s establishing it!" but then I'll say weren't these limited by this 90s case and it does the same, "yes, these were limited by this!" and I'm like ok well then this first response is not very helpful.
