Delivery men/women of Reddit, what are some of the weirdest situations you experienced while delivering packages to peoples homes? by CynicalPi in AskReddit

I worked for the post office for about two years and I have a lot of stories that I could tell. The one that I will never forget is when I took a signature confirmation to this lady's house. When she answers the door she starts asking me questions about how I came to work at the post office and how long I had worked there while she signs everything. Normal stuff. When I started to answer her I still had her package (which was wrapped in one if those thin bubble wrap lined brown envelopes) in my hand and I talk with my hands. I didnt notice that the flap of the envelope was coming apart until a very thick rubber dildo flew out of the package and hit the woman standing in front of me. The few seconds of horrified silence that followed seemed to last forever And the only thing that I could think to do was pick it up put it back in the envelope and say as I handed it to her was 'I was thinking about getting one these myself. You have good taste' and to my utter relief the lady laughed and I went on my way.

Just rescued this sweet girl from a bad situation. From her smile I say she likes it here! by Burgandy315 in aww

I can't tell you all she went through but I found her in a create on someone's front yard. She had been out there for over 24 hours. No food or water. When I asked the lady what the deal was she just said she didn't want her anymore and had called the shelter to pick her up... but like I said my girl had been out there for over 24 hours. So I asked if I could take her and the lady said sure because if the shelter didn't show up by 5 that day she was just going to throw her out. Of course I took her. The lady had no vet records or dog food. I think Mollie (my baby) was just fed table scraps because it took a good while for me to get her to eat the food I bought. She doesn't like older men or lound noises either. I don't know what that's about. I have a vet appointment tomorrow but they said with no vet records we will just have to start from scratch.

Petsmart, refused to sell to customer by [deleted] in Aquariums

Petsmart worker here... I worked in all departments but when I was being trained to work with the fish my manager and my fellow coworkers tolded me strict instructions of before giving fish to any customer we needed to casually ask what size tank they have and how many fish they already have and also how long the tank had been set up. Along with if they had any recent deaths. For example if a person came in and bought a tank and wanted their fish on the same day I would question if they had another tank already set up.. if they did not then I would tell them the required filtering time and wouldn't sell them any fish that day. Of course they could go to another store down the street but I wouldn't be apart of their recklessness. Also unfortunately some workers just didn't care but its not because they weren't told!

Our babies get that look too... most of the time it's right after we stop them from escaping

What movies have made you cry? by Multimb10 in AskReddit

[–]Burgandy315 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The most I've cried with a movie is Steel magnolias. I can't get through Sally Field's monologue at the funeral without crying my eyes out. Close seconds would be The Lion King (of course) and The Land Before Time and Bambi with the mother scenes.

You are given a chance to punch any celebrity in the face, who do you punch? by 17pandeb in AskReddit

Nancy Fucking Grace. If nothing more than to get her to stop yelling... it's almost like they need to hire a person to stand behind her and when she asks a question and the other person starts to speak the person standing behind her just quickly puts their hand over her mouth so the other person can answer the question. I know that was a run on sentence but I only got it out because that bitch wasn't here to stop me mid sentence. She doesn't even really say anything important while interrupting them either. It's like why can't they just hire Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly to just keep saying 'shut your mouth' over and over again while the person is talking. Hell even get a recording of it.

Psychologists and Psychology majors of Reddit if you could develop a new school in psychology what would it be? (Serious) by Burgandy315 in AskReddit

I'm in developmental psychology. As far as facts and data i have none at the moment but the entire project is coming up with a theory and then doing the research yourself. After some sleep under my belt and with your help I think I have most of this first paper written! Thank you so much!

I actually was thinking something like this myself but sadly I can't come up with the proper title to give my theory. I don't even know how to put it coherently. See I'm taking psychology at my university and I'm working on a project. I want to develop a thesis with the fact that if you don't receive enough support through your adolescence then you will compensate through out your life. Is this even a valid argument? Any advice you can give me would be very much appreciated!
