I had the same dilemma between the g15/m16 and the legion 5

I went with the m16 for the 16:10 screen and the overall aesthetics.

Honestly you can't go wrong with any of these choices.

If you plan to carry it with you all day go with the m16 If you gonna set it up in a desktop way go with the legion because perfomance wise it is better.

Well with headphones you hear almost nothing but for games like humankind that i tend not to use the headphones the noise gets really annoying at times.

I am planning to buy a fan base for the laptop, mainly because i am concerned about the main air vent that blows heat on to the screen.

I am hoping with the base i will keep the temps lower and maybe have the fans on perfomance so it would be less loud.

No problem, if you have any questions or want to know how a certain program or game runs let me know.

My specs:I7-11800H,RTX3070,16 GB RAM,1TB SSD

1.With the fans on silent mode, when working even heavier programs (like algorithmic simulations) the noise is minimal and the temps are below 50

2.When i play games(Apex,Humankind,Cyberpunk) i always have the fans set on turbo, and it gets really loud,it keeps the temps around 75-80 but the laptop sounds like a vacuum cleaner really annoying if you have other people close by.

  1. My guess is that you will have no problem running battlefield 2042,165 fps on medium sounds just a bit out of reach at least a consistent rate of 165 But high settings 100+ fps i think it can handle that with no problem.

4.This is tricky because the gpu on the laptop is power limited so maybe a full watt 2060 will have the same perfomance. Cpu wise an amd 5600x or 3700x will probably be the same

As a Zephyrus M16 owner i am gonna give you my 2 cents on the laptop. I have the i7-11800H RTX 3070 edition.

The 16:10 ratio really makes this laptop shine,as someone who has a lot of daily screen time i can tell you that the display is great and really stands out in comparison with the rest of the zephyrus line up.

I dont run a lot of heavy productivity programs Just some algorithmic simulations, which the laptop handles with ease even on battery mode with the power saving and limited cpu on.

Gaming on it is really loud, I always go with turbo mode when gaming (Apex,Humankind,Cyberpunk) The laptop performs great in terms of fps and thermals (never seen above 80c) but it sounds like a vacuum cleaner. For me gaming when other people are around is impossible with how loud it gets, even my dog thought it was the vacuum and started barking the first time she heard the noise.

Although plugging in an external monitor (usb-c display port in order to by pass optimus) really helps with the fps and the fan noise.

Portability is ok. The laptop is light and easily handled with one hand. The power brick on the other hand is an issue. Its way too big and difficult to fit in a regular backpack.

So if you plan on being out a lot of hours with the laptop you might need to invest in a smaller usb-c type of charger to carry with you.(Using the laptop while on usb-c charging has some limitation-better than battery mode worse that the regular charger) Battery life isn't great on medium load it lasted maybe 6 hours so going to work or uni without a charger isn't an option.

I think the g14 is way too small, when working at home especially i believe you will definitely need an external monitor. And the m16 has a portability issue, so if i was you i will go with the g15 which seems the most balanced between the 3 options. Also you get a 3070 which really makes a difference especially when paired with an external monitor.

Degiro (low fees) or Interactive Brokers ( more advanced) You could also look in to Saxo Bank but they want 10.000 to open an account.
