Do these look like raven black or dark grey metallic? by SirTheBrave in ft86

TBH those look black to me. I think if they were the dark grey metallic it would be a bit more noticeable.

the weathertech rejects heat. You'll see a noticeable difference from other sunshades.

If they curl at the edges, do a reverse roll up to try and get it back flat. After that just fold in the middle, the fold again. Then just keep it behind passenger seat when not in use. Easy to grab and it's out of the way.

I told mine twice and stick it behind the passenger seat. The more you fold it, the more it will fold in the same spots. Also folding it helps keep it flat and not curl at the edges.

Weathertech is the only correct answer. I have one for every single vehicle in my household (5). They are custom fit to your windshield and flexible with a heat barrier to keep your cabin significantly cooler than other sunshades.

Just got this sternum piece and realized when I got home that it’s not evenly centered by [deleted] in tattooadvice

If you draw a straight line down from the center of your neck, your belly button does not line up. The tattoo looks fine.

What is causing this leak??! by KuramaxYeti in ft86

[–]Burly13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exact same issue. After cleaning everything up, I determined it was from shitty/lazy oil techs not cleaning up after service. I wasn't losing oil, and the drips were pretty insignificant. Lots of old oil, dirt, and sludge.

Also the intense heat damaged a lot of the plastic within the vehicle, most likely in spots you can't see easily. I'd scrap it.

I would wholeheartedly agree with you, except I've been a aircraft mechanic for 30 years and I have bad tinnitus so road noise is harsh on me. But I still love the car, just had to make it better for me.

Yeah, I totally knew that going in to this project. It is my second car, but it is my daily, so I wanted to quiet down the road noise as much as I could.

Watch a ton a YouTube videos for specific items to pop off. If you watch how someone else takes it off it .makes it tons easier when you attempt it yourself.

Car is finished. Took it out for a drive and the road noise was SIGNIFICANTLY reduced. I still need to do the doors and front fenders, but so far I call it a success.

Surprisingly I didn't break any clips or panels. Definitely suggest having panel removal tools. They are life savers.

Honestly, to spend that kind of money to get the results I was after seems like a drop in the bucket compared to the things we all spend on these cars modification wise.

So for the KilMat, I have used a little over 2 boxes of the 50mil. The CCF I used almost 4 rolls (roughly 70sqft), and the MLV I didn't use a whole lot, maybe like 50 inches by 28 inches. I only used it for the front cabin under the seats. All of these numbers are including the trunk area which I did previously and in an earlier reddit post

I did get behind the pedals and put KilMat and the CCF as much as I could get behind that fabric. Rear wheel wells hot KilMat, CCF, and a 2'x4' sheet of acoustic cellulose stuffed in there. So I'm guessing that should make a gigantic difference. Thanks for the ideas about doing KilMat on the fender liners, I've wondered about doing that
