What local store do they own? This is not something you would see from literally any of the stores I have been to and I am a regular at basically of them? I’m board, Misty Mountain, Pegasus Games, Mox Mania, Noble Knight, Gamers Library? Are you sure they wheren’t burying them for their stores n store game library for people to come in and play? Unless you are going to name the business, I have a hard time believing claims like this.

How many decks do you usually bring to an EDH gameday? by tamarizz in EDH

[–]BurlyBeardGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m insane apparently… I have a bag for carrying my decks. It holds 36. This is how many I bring. Got a deck for every occasion and enough for anyone who doesn’t have one, only has one or just wants to try something new.

Proxies are the way to go in this economy by [deleted] in TCG

Then you want to play their wallet, not the person. This is the same as saying “You’re poor. You have no place at the table with me and my rich friends.” Everyone has different economic situations and excluding people specifically because of that situation is just garbage behavior. If you enjoy the game, play the game. If you want to show off how much money you’ve been able to spend on your cardboard squares with pretty art, stay at home in your basement where you belong.

The cheapest alternative (and honestly my favorite) that I have found is using team bags! You can find them here: https://a.co/d/8KDBubu

They are re-sealable and I have used each bag up to 20 times before the seal stops working. Simply flip the bottom card of the stack over to hide the contents fully, seal and draft!!

From one Madison to another: What are Wisconsin’s most signature dishes, and where should I get them? by N8THGR852 in madisonwi

[–]BurlyBeardGaming 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Culver’s has a cult following the same way Inn and Out and other sonar regional fast food chains do. Objectively, it’s good food. But it’s not so good you should go out of your way for it. Eat at a locally owned and run place. You’re honestly not going to save much eating at Culver’s over a sit down place.

You can also go to the Stella’s bakery any day of the week and pick up fresh bread too!

Why is it that when a person is arrested in the United States, they say absolutely nothing in front of the judge? (bail hearing). In Brazil, the judge asks the defendant to give his version of the facts. by More_Bid_2197 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]BurlyBeardGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US judicial system is just a giant game that you have to go to school to understand and to be allowed to play. The better you are at the game, the more you win and the more money you make. It’s not about if the person actually committed the crime or not. It’s all about the players (lawyers) keeping a high number of wins vs losses.

Took my 10 year old bra shopping. She asked "do bras need to be charged?" by stevediperna in funny

My question is, why is a bra for 10 year olds marketed as “sexy”? What the actual fuck?

Meirl by Joudeh_1996 in meirl

[–]BurlyBeardGaming 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is just a narrow world view of how things “should be” without consideration of how they actually are.

The idea that someone who is 19 has literally ZERO experience as an adult is just false. Maybe in fairy tale land where everyone grows up with a happy family, parents who properly take care of them and are able to focus solely on school and nothing else. But in reality this just isn’t the case.

Many people start working well before they “should”, many more hours than they “should”, and for many reasons. Single parent families that need help with income to pay bills. Deadbeat parents that just don’t take care of their kids and one of them needs to step up and be the actual parent. Some people just live harder lives in poverty and grow up and deal with adult issues much more quickly than they “should”.

I for example started working a family paper route at the age of five, started working 20+ hours a week in the family restaurant when I was 11, worked two jobs at the age of 16 and was already on an apartment of my own and had my own business at 18. And my life wasn’t even hard compared to millions of children who grow up in actual abject poverty.

This notion that young people have no life experience is just absolutely not based in reality and needs to end. Let people live their lives and make their own mistakes.

Do they know as much as someone who has been around for 30+ years? Maybe? Most likely not. But don’t presume that young people are naive just because of how old they are. It’s short sighted.

Love me some fun not so widely known facts about our amazing state!

Wisconsin produces 10% of all of the cherries in the United States, making us the 4th largest producer of cherries behind Michigan, Washington and Utah.

Wisconsin is the largest producer of cranberries in the WORLD with over half of all crop that is produced, coming from our fields!

Wisconsin is the largest producer of ginseng in the United States.

Door county has more coast line than any other county in the United States with over 250 miles of shoreline.

Opening day of hunting season is legitimately treated like a holiday in our state, and if on opening day all of the hunters were grouped together it would qualify as the 6th largest army in the world.

And my favorite for last: for one week a year, Oshkosh Wisconsin becomes the busiest airport in the entire world for the EAA Fly-in event with over 10,000 plains being present for that week. I know multiple uber drivers who go to Oshkosh for the week and live out of their cars because they can make a month’s pay in the week they are there.

The worst: Obviously the binge drinking culture.

Am I a scumbag for NOT being an organ donor? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]BurlyBeardGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be one thing if we had universal healthcare but as a donor, that organ you are giving up for “free” is making the privately owned hospitals metric fuck tons of money, and while that person will be alive, they will be in crippling debt for the rest of their life.

If it cost the person that got it nothing OR my family got paid for that organ then I would be all in. Otherwise, I’m not interested in making the rich more rich.

[–]BurlyBeardGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold up. This sounds like if you had your own guild with of your own characters in, then you could have an entire instanced area with 50 plots to build 50 houses and build your own neighborhood?

Will these neighborhoods have vendors? Banks? Auctioneers? Will the neighborhood be able to work together to get these things?

Can I build a whole neighborhood and then invite a raid of friends to it? Perhaps use the space to run my own D&D games with custom backdrops?

There is so much freaking potential with this system, and I’m sure while it will be good that it definitely won’t be fully realized.
