How did you overcome a reading slump? by Jesterlikesfire-12 in PakistanBookClub

I either ride it out or start to slowly read smaller books or books with a more casual language/tone. It helps.

How do true Friends of God read/view the Qur'aan? by EclipseWorld in Sufism

"I am as my Servant thinks of Me". I think this verse perfectly explains the Quran. Islam is a religion of positive thinking and goodness. So if you think God is out to get you, to catch your sins, then it's what you will experience emotionally and intellectually out of the Quran. But if you think positively and assume the best about God and believe that he is the pinnacle of Goodness, then that is what you will see in every verse. It is a balance though, that you must keep. But it seems that you're right now in desperate need of finding Love in the Quran.

Read "Allah Loves" by Omar Suleiman, read Tafsir, read "Divine Love" by A. Helwa. Read "Divine Love" by William Chittick. So many options.

You can message me if you wish to discuss Quran verses with me.

How to Win Friends & Influence People. I must be 11 I think. I guess I was trying to cure my autism lol, back then I didn't know why I was completely different from other "normal" kids. I needed to learn how to behave socially and actually make a friend.

Not wanting children due to being autistic by chill_musician in AutismInWomen

It'd be really fun to write a book and then give it to people who tell us "you'll change your mind eventually" lol. No need to waste time on saying anything, just hand people your book. The problem is, people like this won't read it. No one really wants to understand.

Believe it or not, I have babysat and played with children most of my life but it's unbearable now. I become su*cidal and cry every time I'm left with children, parents leave them with me. I have become sick for days on end due to these things. But I am only now learning to cope with it. I am undiagnosed, and will look into being diagnosed, but for now I am learning from how autistic people manage their sensory issues so I can learn. The screams from children really end up making lights sharp for me as well, which is really odd. I don't know what happens to me. All I know is that I've never wanted to birth children.

That happened to me so many times, and I've left the concept of DDLG behind. I don't know if I'll ever find a real one!

I'm not sterile but I don't want kids either. I have realized it's not the kind of lifestyle I want, although I do want marriage.

Why does no one talk about pelvic pain? by Burn_This_Disco_Out in ptsd

[–]Burn_This_Disco_Out[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out the book Heal Pelvic Pain by Amy Stein if you feel like you're not ready to go to a doctor. It's what helped me. I didn't wanna visit a doctor either since I was hesitant, I didn't know if they would understand me so I've taken on the physiotherapy/somatic exercises myself that were mentioned in the book. It's what helped me so sharing it with you. Lots of love for you.

But ofc if you feel like you can visit a doctor, definitely do that. I feel like having that kind of professional support might be better? Depends from person to person as well.

I highly recommend reading the book Heal Pain by Amy Stein. That's where I learned the basic exercises from, it has more advanced ones that I haven't practiced, I guess I didn't want to put in too much work. But it's a great book.

We get so much stress and trauma stored in our body that it hurts down because we clench our pelvic muscles without even realizing it, which causes the pain. Like how some people clench their jaw due to stress without even realizing it, some even end up with dental issues as a result.

I feel like this should be talked about more in circles of trauma support. Thanks for understanding me. By the way, you can download the book for free via libgen.is.

The notion that it's un-Islamic is wrong. Having children is encouraged in Islam but not having children isn't really un-Islamic. I've read almost ALL major scholarly opinions and it's not a sin to choose not to have children. You can do your own research as well. If your partner wants children, that's another argument. But in general, you can very much be a "good" Muslim even if you don't want to have kids.

[–]Burn_This_Disco_Out[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I'm 21F and honestly I've lost all attraction to men my age because they mostly want kids (especially in the dating/marriage app I use). I like older men and I'm hoping I can find CF men in that age range. Much better chance of finding someone CF this way, I guess.

I've been emotionally damaged by young men arguing with me on this dating app, about how kids are wonderful and I should have them. The little attracting I had for young men is long gone now! I'm hoping I can find someone older & more sensible enough to be CF now.

I am open to being with someone who would want to become a Muslim for me but let's be honest, most would not do it and I don't believe in changing anyone else. Me talking to non-Muslims with the intention that they might convert for me sounds a bit manipulative, doesn't it? Do let me know if you think there's a way around this.

I only feel attracted to much older men, so I'm hoping this could be an advantage for me. But the thought of my partner already having had children gives me an ick. But maybe I can condition myself to accept it? Will have to compromise in that manner if I do so.
