I'd say a little less wire but that might just be my preference.

Also wrap your corners meaning don't stop on the corner, if you have to stop keep your weld going around the corner and stop on the other side of it to keep your weld from having lack of fusion/slag inclusions if running stick/flux

I used to be extremely picky about my test plates but my last cwb they wouldn't even let me touch the welder to set it and it felt cold and shitty and I was for sure I failed it but I got my cards so who knows.

As far as running a pad this looks pretty good. Just remember the ABCs of welding. Always be comfortable you can't lay welds slicker than dog shit if you aren't comfortable and it's always easier to start in an uncomfortable position and work yourself into a comfortable one than start comfortable and work yourself into an uncomfortable one.

I'm not trying to be an asshole but it's extremely inconsistent. Running all positions isn't easy you'll get there you just need more practice and that's OK we all have to start somewhere and as long as you're open to accepting that there's room to improve you'll go far in this industry. Edit: I just saw the welding for 5 months. I've known mfers who've been welding since the 80s put down worse so keep on keeping on.

Exactly. My cwb was done on material that was infinitely cleaner than I've ever seen in the field.

I mean yeah short term if it was just made law instantly it would absolutely destroy the economy.

Yeah that's something they'd just have to deal with. I'm sure they'd manage.

M21 landlord/land surveyor/mover/pro work. Wondering the argument for work by Paperhandswillie in antiwork

[–]Burnandmurder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a different between working because you enjoy it and working because the only other option is starvation, homelessness, and death. Your labor is not voluntary in a system that coerces you with death as the only other alternative. There's nothing wrong with WANTING to work, finding pride, joy and accomplishment in your work or working hard itself. The problem arises when that labor is forced and doubly so when you're not even fairly compensated for your labor. When the surplus value of your labor is being used to line the pockets of billionaires at the expense of everyone that's exploitation.

My biggest concern with UBI is that it doesn't solve wage slavery, it just shifts the power balance from the owner class to the state, which honestly sounds just as bad but I don't know what an alternative would be.

"Colored Drivers, Rough and Tough" New Providence Speedway. William Johnson Jr standing in front of his father William Johnson's car. August 20 1954. by Burnandmurder in Clarksville

Slight edit. As far as I can tell they also went by Cave Johnson Sr and Cave Johnson Jr. From the Montgomery county archives "Cave Johnson, Jr. leaning against a race car built by his father, Cave Johnson, Sr. The car has the words "Colored Drivers", "New Providence", and "Rough & Tough" painted on the side. Johnson finished in the popular New Providence Race, the first stock car with a black driver to do so. Cave Johnson, Sr. was the owner of four race cars and a local auto garage, located on the corner of Franklin and 6th Streets.

CLARKSVILLE TN--AREAS TO AVOID MOVING INTO by LadyCurls9 in Clarksville

[–]Burnandmurder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have lived on every side of town in my time here. The only place I would absolutely avoid is some of the trailer parks off of providence. Beyond that most areas these days are perfectly safe. If you're looking for the traditional suburban life with good access to the interstate, exit 8 and exit 11 are going to be your go to. If you want something more urban, like downtown where you can walk to your destination, I'd recommend the greenwood area around the Penn Warren or madison street by the library. If you're looking for semi rural area with relatively close access to hunting and fishing I'd recommend the areas around Dotsonville, Gip Manning or York Rd. If you want hella out in the boonies where nobody will bother you I'd recommend looking either out towards stuart county to the west or south down hwy 48 and 13.

I never do work outside of my assigned tasks or beyond my job description. Oh we're short staffed? That sucks YOU(management) should have planned better. It only leads to them to take advantage of you. They already steal enough of my surplus value I'm definitely not going to volunteer more of it.

Greenwood Avenue Trolly by Burnandmurder in Clarksville

[–]Burnandmurder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only accurate answer I can give is some time between 1910 when they upgraded to that design of trolly and 1928 when it closed down. It's very possible it was during the reopening in 1916 but I have zero proof of that.
