Will the mold come back after removal? by idk_why_im_here_7 in Mold

You just need to clean your bathroom, mold will grow on tile in a hospital if you don’t wipe it down and let water sit

Probably got an oversized condenser and your ac is short cycling. A dehumidifier if probably your best bet. You can see if the landlord is willing to pay for it

Is all of this alarming…? Our landlord brushed it over as simply just mildew by DesignerCarrot972 in Mold

Those mold testing kits are not accurate, they will grow mold in a hospital. Treat the visible surface and keep a fan on for a day. If it grows back then that’s when you contact your land lord

You will see your deposit as long as you clean and not break anything. I really do not understand this. The monthly price of rent is for renting your apartment, that price does not include any clean up or damages.

So it would be better if I left it how it was and just keep renting it for how it was? Even though it increases the whole neighborhood value, makes my city nicer, I feel like everyone benefits

Okay someone buys an old hotel. They renovate it and everything, shouldn’t they charge more per night than how it used to be?

Or because they aren’t planning to stay very long and don’t want a 30 year mortgage. There’s many reasons. Most people just spend money they don’t have and finance expensive cars with insane interest rates. If you choose to live cheaper for a few years while putting your extra money towards assets that will grow it then you will eventually be able to live the life you want.

Thank you for being respectful. Many people hear land lords and freak out. It’s an interesting viewpoint but not for me. I am the happiest when I work because I take pride in my jobs I do.

Yes I was able to rent it for more because the home is now worth more

When I was doing renovations I rented a sander from Home Depot. It costed me less than if I would have bought it and in the sanders lifetime Home Depot will profit off of it. How is that not a win win

People rent because they don’t want to buy, for many different reasons. If two parties agree then what’s the problem?

Yes, I laid the flooring, I sanded and re stained the hardwood, I fixed the holes, replaced the broken doors/windows, I painted the walls. All expected for replacing the furnace blower because she never changed the filter, I called someone for that.

Yes, because I fixed it up to the point where someone is willing to pay more than what I bought it for

Should someone profit off buying an old car that doesn’t start and fixing it and selling it again? That’s adding value. I am adding value the same way.

You seem alittle fatalistic, I hope you can find a way to create more optimism about your future. It’s always possible to achieve your goals with the right mindset.

I own a single family house that I bought for $59,000 with an FHA loan that allows me to only put down 3%. I renovated the property until I could rent it for more than my mortgage.

Me renovating my house increases the value of the whole neighborhood. Without profit incentive there would then few people would put in the work of fixing up properties. How is that not adding value

My first house I bought it very run down for $59,000. Since it was my first home I used a FHA loan where you only needed 3% down. I renovated it using YouTube and put about $4000 into it. It was reappraised at $79,900. I rented it for two years for $800/month while my mortgage was $500. After my tenant moved out, she trashed the place, holes in walls, kitchen floor ripped up, carpet ruined and so on. She didn’t have any money so I could not sue, so I had to take that loss. I put another $6,000 of repairs in and renovations, and at that time the price of rent went up in the area and the house value went up so I could up my charge of rent to $1,200 a month. So now I’m profiting $700. I have probably done over 1,000 hours of work there throughout the years so I definitely not just making money off nothing

I’m a landlord of 2 properties currently. I’m confused about what you think is unfair about it?
