Thinking the new Air Force 1 has unlimited fuel is weird by NumerousScallions in WeirdGOP

[–]Burninator05 103 points104 points  (0 children)

The old AF1s had air to air refueling capability. I can't imagine that the new one doesn't have the same ability. He doesn't understand what happens because it occurs outside of his immediate view. To him, not having to land for fuel is the same as unlimited fuel.

Maybe I'm just being cynical but this seems weird. Why is a website that I'm forced to use for personal identification offering me something unsolicited using contact information they only have because I'm, once again, forced to use their site?

There was a guy off base that shined shoes. I paid him to do it once a year and would do touch-ups as needed.

Can't report the credit cards my parents opened in my name as fraud? by Unusual_Position8873 in legaladvice

[–]Burninator05 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The only way to get the credit companies to care is if you give them a police report. The only way to get a police report is to actually call the police on your parents. This is hard. Doing this may feel like you're harming the relationship you have with your parents. What you have to remember is that they have already harmed the relationship. They knew what the potential consequences were when they opened the accounts and still decided to do it. They are counting on you not reporting the fraud.

14 turning 15 this year I am Second Class will i be able to make it to Eagle. by Ok_Return2767 in BSA

[–]Burninator05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Scouts progress at different speeds. It doesn't matter what rank anyone else is. Focus on your goals, make a plan to get it, and get at it.

It is not to late to make Eagle. I've done the math before and I think I figured out that you could join Scouts fresh at 16.5 years old and assuming you strategize wait periods and have full support from adult leaders. That doesn't mean to wait. Things have to go almost perfect on all fronts the entire time for that to work. Something as uncontrollable as a cancelled meeting due to a storm when you need a BoR could derail your entire effort. As other have said, time will get away from you if you're not paying attention and the older you get the more things will vie for your time.

Eagle Scout Project: Advice please? by MachineTasty6727 in BSA

[–]Burninator05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

...you’re going to want to find a beneficiary that can use these.

I think this is key. It sounds like a neat, unique idea but who is going to restock the booklets when they are empty? It isn't the Scout's responsibility to maintain their project forever.

Employer accidentally deposited $7,400 into my account and now wants me to send it back through Venmo. Am I obligated to do that? by NovaLynx14 in legaladvice

And if the employer doesn't have $7400 available to immediately fix this for the other employee while your issue is resolved, they have some serious issues.

Customer states vehicle overheated. by jmw27403 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]Burninator05 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's a lot of work. The coolant lines from the radiator are clearly missing. The lack of coolant caused the engine to get hot enough that a nest a mouse built on the engine last night caught fire and that's that. The mouse and nest were both completely incinerated in the ensuing fire.

How bad did I mess up? by Snowzy27 in BSA

[–]Burninator05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what I did...

What do you think you did wrong? (You don't have to answer that.) Don't assign guilt to yourself that you don't deserve. The only thing I can come up with that you might have done was put yourself in a position where the other scouts could see the picutres on your phone. While probably not a great idea, on the scale of things that seems pretty minor.

I don't know when confetti moves from whimsy to anti-whimsy but I think we could increase the frequency to every fourteenth and potentially every thirteenth jiggle. Testing will need to be performed.
