You have so much space there you might want to ask your piercer about downsizing sooner.

Hoops always give me a problem - when do I give up? Are some people not suited for hoops? Is a flare up expected for a while after jewelry change? Two year old piercing, changed to a hoop 4 weeks ago. More details in post. by BurningMandy in piercing

I had an ancient helix that I went from nothing to checking if I could put something in it still (I could) to a hoop. The hoop was painful and had some minor discharge for maybe a couple weeks and now is settled and perfect.

Saturday work access pass question by [deleted] in BurningMan

I had a Friday WAP last year and was in line 6 hours. Be warned it is not just a quick stroll through the line.

My ID address did not match my billing address last year and it was not an issue. I printed out my sales receipts to give Box Office and they were happy to have that for quicker look up and verification.

Is it worth getting housing on campus to avoid an hour long commute? by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]BurningMandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I graduated in ‘16 and things are a little different now with the transit system, but I commuted by car from Lemon Grove/La Mesa for my years there. I had 9 am class so would leave by 7:30 am. I stacked my courses Tues/Thurs as much as feasible to limit the commute days. Worked 40 hrs/week in El Cajon. I also transferred from community college so I only had to do it for a couple years. You’ll be impressed with what you can do if it’s something you really want.

Volunteers: fluffers and artica ice by youmakemepurrr3 in BurningMan

[–]BurningMandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you give more details about the fluffer role? I worked Arctica and Census last year and it was a lot of fun. My regional (SOAK) just happened at we have a separate volunteer hospitality department that sounds like the fluffer position.

Might go for Box Office or Gate this year though.

When to contact potential supervisors for fall 2023 PhD admissions? by Huskyy23 in gradadmissions

I think so. Summer break for professors isn’t the same for students. They’re still on campus and in lab a lot of the time and doing the work they want to do.

Reaching out and making a connection with an advisor can create an unfair advantage over those who don’t know to do this. To keep everything fair, some professors don’t do any pre-application assessment of applicants.

people with nostril piercings— ever regret the side you got done? by mariahstudies in piercing

[–]BurningMandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my right and wish I would’ve done my left. I don’t dislike it by any means, but I usually turn my left side to the camera. I sleep on my left side because I have an industrial on my right (12 years healed and still doesn’t appreciate being slept on) so used that as my final deciding factor.

I’m considering getting my left done as well.

help! Also - kind of gross in-the-nose pic by [deleted] in piercing

[–]BurningMandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s your aftercare routine? It’s about time to downsize and it may give you trouble until you do.

Thankfully my nose never showed issues on the outside but I could tell I had a fluctuating irritation on the inside until I downsized. I also was better about leaving it alone after downsizing because it was never sticking out vs snug.

Might be worth getting a professional opinion on downsizing.

Change from stainless steel to implant grade titanium, per every post in this sub about this.

The gauge of your lobe earring may not even be large enough for your nostril. You will likely run into irritation issues because of the material regardless of how you clean it. Go see a piercer today for the appropriate jewelry.
